General Outline
Paul's Ways in Detail
Introduction
We are going to spend the summer looking at the very specifics of the
things that Paul says we ought to do BECAUSE we are Bible Believing Rightly
Dividing Paul following Christians! (The word Christian has truly
lost its definition today - almost everyone says they are a Christian...)
Because of the nature and detail included here, other
than this introduction, there will be few, if any, detailed notes available
online.
The key for you here will be in hearing the preaching
& teaching of the Lord's words.

Paul's
life of longsuffering is to be our pattern for a life of longsuffering
'being' a true Christian in this world!
-
I Timothy 1:16
- Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ
might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should
hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Doing
Paul and we will have the God of peace with us!
-
Philippians 4:9 -
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and
seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Paul's
ways are in Christ are to be taught in every church!
-
I Corinthians 4:17
- For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son,
and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways
which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
Stand
fast with what we learn from Paul!
-
II Thessalonians 2:15
- Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have
been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
Put
off the old man!
-
Jeremiah 1:10 is still a good verse
for us. We must root out and throw down, etc. the junk in our life
as we try to learn what Paul preaches to us how to build on the foundation
of Jesus Christ. See, I have this day
set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull
down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
-
Ephesians 4:22 - That
ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;
-
Colossians 3:8 - But
now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy
communication out of your mouth.
-
Colossians 3:9 -
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his
deeds;
Paul writings edify,
not destroy!
-
II Corinthians 13:10 -
Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should
use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification,
and not to destruction.
Don't turn this
stuff into the letter of the LAW!
-
Romans 8:2 - For
the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the
law of sin and death.
-
Romans 7:6 - But
now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held;
that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the
letter.
Follow the right
ministers - ministers of the NEW TESTAMENT - and that is Paul!
-
New testament begins AFTER Christ has died. See Hebrews
9:16,17 - For where a testament is, there
must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament
is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while
the testator liveth.
-
Follow Paul, not the Gospels and not Peter, John, James, Jude, etc. II
Corinthians 3:6 - Who also hath made us
able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit:
for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Remember, we are not trying to make a 'list of laws'
now written by Paul instead of the Gospels, etc.!
While it is true that Paul's ways, etc. are basically the entire
Bible from Romans to Philemon,
we are still going to consider what those particular things and
ways of Paul are.
P.S. Beware not to make this into another bondage situation!
Galatians 3:3
- Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect
by the flesh?
Galatians 4:9
- But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how
turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again
to be in bondage?
Be ye
followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
I Corinthians 11:1
