Grace - Unmerited favor; good wlil, kindness, disposition to oblige
another
Titus 3:4 -
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared...
Dispensation of Grace
-
Ephesians 3:1-7
-
Grace is a specific dispensation that we live in today!
-
There is more to grace than we realize!
-
This same grace was gven to Paul by effectual working of God's power, then
to us-ward!
-
Today, we are under God's grace, not the law!
-
Romans 6:14 -
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law,
but under grace.
-
Romans 11:6 - And
if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more
work.
We receive His Grace!
-
Through Jesus Christ
-
I Corinthians 1:4 - I
thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given
you by Jesus Christ;
-
Romans 5:1,2 - Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we
stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 4:13-16 - For
the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham,
or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the
promise made of none effect: Because the law worketh wrath: for where no
law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might
be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not
to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith
of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
-
Romans 4:22-25 - And
therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written
for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom
it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord
from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again
for our justification.
-
A gift - free
-
Romans 5:15,17 - But
not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence
of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace,
which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as
it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one
to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which
receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign
in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
-
Ephesians 2:8 - For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God:
-
Paul administered grace to others in his travels
-
II Corinthians 8:19 -
And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with
us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same
Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:
-
We can abound in it!
-
II Corinthians 8;7 - Therefore,
as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and
in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace
also.
-
I Timothy 1:14 - And
the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which
is in Christ Jesus.
Lost people should want God's grace becuase they see it in us - not
'from' us, but 'in' us!
-
II Corinthians 9:10-14 - Now
he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food,
and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through
us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only
supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings
unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God
for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal
distribution unto them, and unto all men; And by their prayer for you,
which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
-
Galatians 2:9 - And
when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace
that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of
fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
-
What did they see in Paul?
-
permissiveness? - NO!
-
ignoring 'wrong'? - NO!
-
said nothing? - NO!
-
hanging around the 'wrong'? NO!
-
ignoring the truth? - NO!
-
grace AND truth go hand in hand; not one without the other!
-
all grace only = ecumenical worthless sugar religon!
-
all truth only = Bible bashing, being offensive, people following puppets!
His grace reigns in us!
-
Romans 5:21 - That
as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
-
through righteousness - HIS!
-
Romans 10:3 - For
they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
His grace gives us His salvation!
-
Ephesians 2:4,5 - But
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even
when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
-
Ephesians 2:8,9 - For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
There are Riches of His Grace!
-
Ephesians 1:7 - In
whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according
to the riches of his grace;
-
Ephesians 2:6,7 - And
hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches
of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
-
Ephesians 2:10-18
-
Titus 2:11-13 - For
the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching
us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed
hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ;
-
grace brings salvation to all, IF they so choose, it is there for them!
-
grace actually teaches us how to live!
-
We are to speak that - reprove, exhort, rebuke with all authority - Scriptural
authority, of course!
Titus, the man and God's grace!
II Corinthians 8:6 - Insomuch
that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in
you the same grace also.
What the Power of God's Grace Does
To TO/For Us!
Not: The following points are so much better explained in the audio/video!
I. Humbles us!
-
Romans 12:3 - For
I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think
soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
-
We all have our place!
-
Romans 12:4-8 - For
as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same
office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members
one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that
is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion
of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth,
on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let
him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth
mercy, with cheerfulness.
II. Gives Us Boldness!
-
However, not because of our scholarship, etc.
-
Romans 15:15,16 - Nevertheless,
brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting
you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should
be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel
of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being
sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
III. Justifies Us!
-
Titus 3:7 - That
being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the
hope of eternal life.
-
Romans 3:24 - Being
justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ
Jesus:
-
Romans 5:1 - Therefore
being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ:

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we try to apply the 'TO!"
