Deliverance:
Why Not?
Need
some exuses? Here ya go!
|
And when one of them that sat at meat with
him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat
bread in the kingdom of God. Then said he unto him, A certain man made
a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say
to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they
all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have
bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have
me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go
to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married
a wife, and therefore I cannot come. Luke

By rightly dividing the word
of truth, we have nailed down Salvation with assurance and confidence...
We have become even more aware of God's workmanship
on us from the past,
for the present and to towards the future!
We have become even more aware of how much He
loved us and loves us and always will!
He has shown us THROUGH PAUL what we can be delivered
FROM!
He has shown us THROUGH PAUL what HE would deliver
us TO!
He has also shown us THROUGH LIFE what we tend
to deliver ourselves to instead of by Him to His ways!
Our Final Question:
WHY DO WE NOT ALLOW HIM TO
DELIVER US TO HIS WAY?
Jesus is in us and is wanting to walk the walk
for us, yet He shows it all through Paul!
Follow Jesus in Gospels - to Jews (makes
Gentiles today frustrated and without peace!)
Matthew 4;19; 9:9; 16:24; Mark
10:21; 16:17; John 10:27; 13:36
Follow Paul in NT - designed to give us the peace
of God that passeth understanding from the God of peace!
I Corinthians 4:16; 11:1; Philippians
3:7; II Timothy 2:22;
I Timothy 6:11; Romans 14:19;
I Corinthians 14:1; I Thessalonians 5:15;
II Thessalonians 3:7,9; Ephesians
5;1; I Timothy 5:10
Don't know they can be! (only 'from' but
not 'to')
1) Pastors don't tell them
2) parents don't teach them
to their kids
3) few folks show them by
example
4) folks don't really listen
to the sermon of a pastor who does tell them
5) SS & other children's
materials don't tell them!
Don't know how!
1) bondage is miserable, but
they try, anyway
2) law - no liberty or joy
of victory or future through it
3) nobody willing or able
to show them
4) pride - they don't really
want to know
They think they are doing ok (God isn't spanking them, etc.)
They like the fleshly feeling, even if only temporary and occasional
They compare themselves to others... II
Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not
make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend
themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing
themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Ignorant of the reality of the times!
Ignore the reality of the times!
They live a pretend life of
what they think it should be - or have been taught it to be...
They prepare for a life that
THEY want to live... and ignore the reality of the times!
Blame God for their miserable life and situation!
Desire to be Holy no matter what
Well, only that which they
can, they justify that which they can not - and ruin a truthful testimony
to others!
Here are
a few more reasons why folks are so deceived by the world, flesh,
self and others which keeps
them from being delivered to God's ways!
Ya can't hit the target unless
you know where to aim!
Another Spirit, Another Christ!
-
II Corinthians 11:4 For
if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or
if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
-
Galatians 1:6-8
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the
grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there
be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Wrong Division!
-
II Timothy 2:15,16
- leads to an increase unto more ungodliness!
The Love of Money!
-
I Timothy 6:10 -
causes folks to err from the faith, and pierce themselves through with
many sorrows!
Cannot Endure Sound Doctrine (rightly divided,
of course)!
-
II Timothy 4:3,4-
causes them to turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables!
We Try to Do the 'Changeover' by Ourselves!
-
Galatians 2:20,21 - we just frustrate
the grace of God by not following Christ's way (through Paul, remember)!
-
I Thessalonians 2:13 - trying to do
it without the Book - the word of God to work in them! Ya gotta be
in that Book in it day & night, through hard and easy times.
You can't be too busy!
They Figure They Don't Deserve It! They don't!
-
Ephesians 2:8,9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
-
Romans 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
No Good Example to Follow!
-
The importance of the brethren... II
Corinthians 1:4,5
-
However, that is no excuse... there is the Book and Paul, etc. There
are plenty of examples of your situation in the Bible!
Too Young!
-
Ecclesaistes 12:1 - Remember
now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not,
nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
-
I Timothy 4:12 Let
no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word,
in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. But
don't let it be an excuse, either!
-
they think they have plenty of time... even time
to waste... Proverbs 27:1 Boast
not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
-
they are in a hurry to get what they want, where
they want and how they want! II Thessalonians
3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts
into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
Psalms 130:5: I wait for the LORD, my soul
doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
-
not willing to live a Smyrna 'early marriage' or
young years of beginning... they want it now! Revelation
2:9 I know thy poverty, (but thou
art rich)...
-
they have not seen death be a 'real thing' yet -
not someone they really cared about and spent years together. Life
AFTER death must become real!
Too Old!
-
Ecclesiastes 12:1-7
-
Psalm 71:18 Now
also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have
shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that
is to come.
-
can't let go of the past
-
it's too late to change no
-
this is the way things are, so what can we do about
it now
-
Ecclesiastes 4:13
Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will
no more be admonished.
Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God!
-
II Timothy 3:4 - hard
to give up that personal 'enjoyment' - that is more important that loving
God HIS way...
Will Not Hearken!
Somebody Will Try Not to Allow You to Change!
-
Envy - Mark 15:10For
he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. Acts
13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes,
they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken
by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Acts
17:5
But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain
lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the
city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring
them out to the people. I
Timothy 6:4 He is proud, knowing
nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh
envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Nehemiah 2-6 They
will: 1) mock you; 2) try to conspire to stop you;
3) try to sneak in amongst the rubbish; 4) fuss over finances;
5)
try to make you compromise; 6) threaten you with slander;
7)
try to cause you to sin!

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked.
I Peter 4:12,13
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try
you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice,
inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory
shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

thy neighbour as thyself.

Lying Pastors in their Lives!
-
Jeremiah 23:22 -

words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from
the evil of their doings.
they should be showing you the book so you can see the understanding yourself!
-
Jeremiah 7:4,8Trust
ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the

lying words, that cannot profit.
Addicted to the Wrong Thing!
-
I Corinthians 16:15 I
beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the
firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry
of the saints,)

-
Romans 6:18 Being
then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
We are MADE to be that... but...
-
Romans 7:25 I
thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself
serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
-
Romans 6:19,20 I
speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for
as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity
unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness
unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free
from righteousness.

-
II Corinthians 2:11 Lest
Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
-
II Corinthians 11:3,4 But
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached,
or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another
gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not
faith.
-
II Peter 3:17 Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye
also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Not Heeding Biblical Warnings
-
vain words, good word, fair speeches slieght of men,
cunning craftiness, great swelling words of vanity, enticing words of man's
wisdom, having men's' persons in admiration because of advantage,
WOE! ... etc. they deceive the hearts of the simple, they deceive
you, they get advantage of you, they treat you like a barbarian, they entice
you, makes the preaching of the cross of none effect, etc.
Not Put Away Childish Things
-
I Corinthians 13:11 When
I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as
a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
-
I Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Not Give the Bible Your Final Authority!
-
I Corinthians 9:27 But
I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means,
when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
-
Matthew 7:28,29 And
it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished
at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and
not as the scribes.
-
Luke 4:32
And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

Acts:12:7

the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying,
Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
-
II Timothy 2:24-26 And
the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt
to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the
truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Still Getting Bogged Down About "Sin" as a Christian?
-
II Peter 2:18-21
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through
the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean
escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty,
they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome,
of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped
the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter
end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better
for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have
known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
-
Romans 7:15-20
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what
I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent
unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it,
but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how
to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would
I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do
that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in
me.
