His first 'official' appearance
-
-
I Timothy 3:16
- And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received
up into glory.
Although, during the Old Testament
He appeared as the Angel of the LORD.
-
He appeared many times, but not in the
flesh, during the Old Testament, as the glory of the Lord.
-
Exodus 33:22,23
- And it shall come to pass, while my glory
passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover
thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and
thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
He Shall Return!
-
Acts 1:9-11
- And when he had spoken these things,
while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their
sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee,
why stand ye gazing up into heaven?
-
this same
Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner
as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Return in Like Manner
- The Second
Advent -
-
II Thessalonians
1:7-10 - And to you who are troubled rest
with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty
angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and
that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
-
Who shall
be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in
his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony
among you was believed) in that day.
-
Zechariah 14:1-4
- Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and
thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
-
For I will
gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken,
and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall
go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut
off from the city.
-
Then shall
the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in
the day of battle.
-
And his
feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before
Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst
thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very
great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and
half of it toward the south.
-
Zechariah 14:5-9
-
And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the
mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from
before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD
my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
-
And it shall
come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
-
But it shall
be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it
shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
-
And it shall
be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of
them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in
summer and in winter shall it be.
-
And the
LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD,
and his name one.
His return
shall end the Tribulation'
-
Matthew 24:27-30
- For as the lightning cometh out of the
east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son
of man be.
-
For wheresoever
the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately
after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the
moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and
the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign
of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth
mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory.
Dinner is served!

Revelation
19:17,18 - And I saw an angel standing
in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that
fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the
supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh
of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and
of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond,
both small and great.

Bible
Books of Hebrews to Jude
-
These are 'Tribulational Books" with
Tribulational doctrine that is written FOR us but certainly not TO us.
These teachings differ from Paul's - see Galatians
1:6-9
-
Jude 14,15
- And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam,
prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands
of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are
ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed,
and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against
him.
From Paul
-
I Thessalonians
2:19 - For what is our hope, or joy,
or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus
Christ at his coming?
-
I Thessalonians
3:13 - To the end he may stablish
your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
-
I Thessalonians
5:1-11
|
His first appearing, through
Paul again.
Planned from
the beginning!
-
Ephesians 3:9
- And to make all men see what is the fellowship
of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
"Rapture"
-
I Corinthians
15:51-58 - Behold, I shew you a mystery;
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal
shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy
sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the
strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know
that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
-
Titus 2:13
- Looking for that blessed hope, and the
glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave
himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
-
I Thessalonians
4:15-18 - For this we say unto you by the
word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of
the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
The
Biblical name for the rapture!
-
Romans 11:25
- For I would not, brethren, that ye should
be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in.
Paul referring to the Second Coming?
-
Colossians
3:4 - When Christ, who is our life, shall
appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
The Future?
-
Tribulation AFTER the rapture!

II Thessalonians
2:13-17
-
I Timothy 3:1-9
Until Then
As we near
the Tribulation:
We can see 'signs'
of the daily details beginning to work their way into daily life.
See Jeremiah 33:11; 25:10.
Speak Paul's
sound doctrine
-
With authority of the King James Bible
-
Titus 2:15
- These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke
with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
-
I Timothy 6:14
- That thou keep this commandment
without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Saved from
wrath:
-
I Thessalonians
1:9-10 - For they themselves shew
of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to
God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son
from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered
us from the wrath to come.
-
I Thessalonians
5:1-9 - But of the times and the seasons,
brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly
that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they
shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them,
as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye,
brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not
of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others;
but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night;
and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are
of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and
for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to
wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
-
Romans 5:9
- Much more then, being now justified by
his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Thessalonians 2:1-8
-
In the Book
of Revelation, the Church as we know it
from Paul is not seen on earth after Chapter
three until Chapter
nineteen.
-
The Translation
of Church-age saints is said to be imminent. The Second Advent comes after
specific signs.
-
The Church is
a mystery unrevealed in the O.T. Ephesians
3:1-6
-
The Book of
Revelation reveals that the Church as
we know it through Paul is not on Earth during the Tribulation.
-
The church is
not seen in chapters 4-18.
-
The witness for
God in the earth is Israel.
-
The prayers of
Revelation
are those of judgment. Only Israel prayed those prayers.
-
The scorpion-like
creatures of Rev 9
are given freedom to hurt all except those Jews sealed by the angel of
Revelation 7.
-
Revelation
10 identifies the events of Revelation
4-18 with those foretold by O.T. prophets.
-
The ministry of
the two witnesses of Revelation 11
identifies them with Israel, etc. They minister from Jerusalem, Israel's
capital.
-
The church-age
believer's judgment is forever past.
-
The devil persecutes
Israel, not the church.

etc.
