Pharisees & Scribes

• All were called hypocrites
• Matthew 23:13 - But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in..

• Do we still keep 'our' tradition, whatever it would be, from our religious past?

• Luke 11:44 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

• Luke 12:54-57 -And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

• They will NEED to be without hypocrisy!
• James 3:17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

• A hypocrite will be a characteristic of a vile person
• They are worse than liberals.
• Isaiah 32:5-8 - The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
• They will have a terrible testimony.

• No law!
• No transgression, etc.
• No 'official' hypocrite in God's eyes concerning us!
• Except, there still should be a concern
• for our testimony for others!

• Luke 12:1 - In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

• I Timothy 4:6 - If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
• I Timothy 4:1-3 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

The Pharisee's had everything to do with Christ's crucifixion!
Matthew 27:62-64

• Today, they want to kill the KJB1611!
• Today, they won't rightly divide!
• Today, they won't follow Paul!
• Today, stick to the Great Commission, etc. Baptist religion, etc.!

• Sound a trumpet before the people!
• Want glory!

• They love to pray in front - brag on their power and success of prayer.
• "I prayed for you" so the result of your 'miracle' is because of my prayers!

• Still can't discern the signs!

• Tempt God with their wickedness

• Your testimony will keep others away!
• They won't believe you because of your hypocrisy

• Do the small stuff, but ignore the important!
• Timothy and Titus but miss the joy, peace, hope, manner of life, etc.
• But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
• I Timothy 2:11-12, not just 9.
• I Timothy 5:14, not 15

• Clean on the outside but rotten to the core!

• Big talkers - "IF I HAD BEEN THERE..".
• pastor should have said... ...
• It ruins those around you towards the truth!
