The goal for truth is in the conclusion as we walk through to the end of II Peter 1:19-21 - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Psalm 119:142 -  Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Psalm 119:130 - The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

III.  Gospels - Christ Himself
John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:17 - For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 -  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

When Christ departs, He sends us the Comforter as a "guide," NOT as the truth!
Romans 5:5 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
John 14:16-18 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Acts 13:47 - For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Acts 26:25 - But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

Turn Gentiles towards the light

I Thessalonians 2:13 -  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
II Corinthians 6:7 - By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

Truth of the gospel
Galatians 2:5 - To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
Ephesians 1:13 - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Colossians 1:5 - For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Yes, the heart is involved, but with the Holy Spirit as a guide, not in our heart as our final authority!
