Today, we look at some Scripturally important "WILL NOT" verses:
I. Will Not Believe / Will Not Go To Him!
P.S. This is how you read the gospels as a Paul following Christian!
-
Luke 22:67 - Art
thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell
you, ye will not believe:
-
John 4:48 -
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not
believe.
-
John 20:25 - The
other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he
said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails,
and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into
his side, I will not believe.
-
John 5:39-40:
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they
are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might
have life.
-
Put the King James Bible in the place of the name of Jesus, etc. - rightly
divided, of course, through Paul - and you will see how we can learn from
the Gospels today!
-
i.e.. - see Luke 23:1,2 - the same
accusations are made toward Paul and the KJB today
-
I personally think that Jesus isn't as hated as Paul and the KJB these
days...
-
They want to see to believe!
-
The Book answers their questions and doubts - but they won't believe it!
-
The Book proves itself, but they don't care!
-
They ignore the Book - they will not go to it that they might have eternal
life!
II. Will Not Talk to the Apostles Anymore
-
John 14:30 - Hereafter
I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and
hath nothing in me.
-
But He does to Paul!
-
Acts 26:16 - But
rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose,
to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast
seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
-
Acts 22:14,15 -
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest
know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his
mouth. For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast
seen and heard.
-
Galatians 1:12 - For
I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation
of Jesus Christ.
-
II Corinthians 12:1-4 -
It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and
revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,
(whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot
tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew
such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God
knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable
words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
-
Ephesians 3:1-3 -For
this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye
have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to
you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as
I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my
knowledge in the mystery of Christ) ...
-
So why do folks think that Jesus will talk to you
today?
-
He does, through the KJB, though!
-
That which is perfect has come!
-
Could that be one reason why the devil hates the
KJB so much!
III. Will Not Listen To Paul
-
Acts 22:18 - And
it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I
prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; And saw him saying unto me, Make
haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive
thy testimony concerning me.
-
Acts 22:19-21 -
And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue
them that believed on thee: And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was
shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the
raiment of them that slew him. And he said unto me, Depart: for I will
send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
-
Acts 9:22-29
-
Acts 26:24 - And
as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou
art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
-
Acts 27:10-11 -
And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt
and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship,
more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
IV. Will Not Impute Sin
-
Romans 4:8 - Blessed
is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
-
Romans 10:3,4 - For
they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every
one that believeth.
-
Romans 4:15 - Because
the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
-
Galatians 3:6-11 - Even
as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children
of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen
through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee
shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed
with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under
the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in
all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that
no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for,
The just shall live by faith.
-
Why does hardly anyone who says they are a Christian
know this, let alone a lost person!
-
1) ignorant
-
2) preachers don't teach it
-
3) But why do they not get excited when they finally
hear about it?
-
devil blinds them...
-
do they see us being worldly with a false testimony
of 'no change' -
-
even if they don't like it, they know we should...
-
but they don't know that all things are lawful but
that we still should change our lives - but for a different reason!
-
Because we love God and are following Paul, etc.
V. Will Not Speak ... which Christ hath not wrought by me...
-
Romans 15:18-19 - For
I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought
by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty
signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem,
and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
-
Acts 21:19 - And
when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had
wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
-
II Corinthians 12:12 - Truly
the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs,
and wonders, and mighty deeds.
VI. Will Not Be Brought Under the Power of...
-
I Corinthians 6:12 - All
things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things
are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
-
Paul still warned about leaven leavening the whole
lump.
-
movies / tv / smoking / etc. long list!
-
what do you have that you HAVE to do...?
-
Remember, even Paul even had his issues too - read
Romans 7:15-25
-
Paul also preached about avoiding, having no company
with, withdrawing, etc.
VII. Will Not Boast of Things Beyond Their Measure
-
II Corinthians 10:13 - But
we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure
of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto
you.
-
without - 'beyond'
-
for it all, see 7-18
-
Philippians 1:9,10
-
Ephesians 5:8-11 - For
ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children
of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness
and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no
fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
VIII. Will Not Glory of Himself - Paul
-
II Corinthians 12:5 - Of
such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
-
for it all, see 12:1-6
-
However, along with the risen Saviour, of course...
-
'what' AND 'who' will he glory of?
-
Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself
IX. Will Not Be Burdensome to Others
-
II Corinthians 12:14 - Behold,
the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome
to you: for I seek not yours, but you:...
-
for it all, see 12:14-21
-
Sermons from Paul should not be burdensome, but how many seek to make that
excuse!
-
We CAN do all that Paul preaches; we just choose not to.
-
We CAN NOT do all that Jesus says in the Gospels, so why do folks think
they CAN!
X. Will Not Spare on His Third Visit!
-
II Corinthians 13:2 -
I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time;
and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and
to all other, that, if I come again, i will not spare:
-
for it all, see 13:1-10
-
Paul even had his issues too - read Romans
7:15-25
XI. Will Not Endure Sound Doctrine!
-
II Timothy 4:1 - For
the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
-
They love the world instead!
-
II Timothy 4:10 -
For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed
unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
-
II Timothy 3:2-5 - For
men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection,
trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those
that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.
-
I Timothy 6:10 - For
the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after,
they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.
