What is In the Old Testament "FOR" us?

In It "FOR" Us?
Now all these things happened
unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition,
upon whom the ends of the
world are come.
I Corinthians 10:11
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
"Ensamples" from whom
to learn, not
"examples" for us to follow!

- Son of man, I have made thee a watchman
unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give
them warning from me.
Watchman - hear
the word at my mouth!
God's very words
2:9,10 - 3:3
- ...behold, an hand was sent unto me;
and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
The very words that God wanted Ezekiel
to speak were given to him from God in a role of a book, which he was commanded
In his mouth the book was “sweetness,”
seems to mean that he found joy in God's words being God's words, as did
Jeremiah, though the message was a message of woe.
Eating the book signified thoroughly
digesting its contents so that its message would become a part of himself.
God seemed to lay upon Ezekiel the responsibility
for the doom of his nation, which he could escape only by a faithful declaration
of God’s words.
This series of verses is used often
today, falsely for sure, to put the guilt trip or the fear onto a Christian
to make them witness more.
He was also warned that God would, at
times, impose silence upon him....
...this was to be
a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Was Their Sign:
I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they
shall remove and go into captivity.
Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron
between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be
besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign
to the house of Israel.
In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth
in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground:
for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
14:8 - And
I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb,
and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that
I am the LORD.
Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them,
that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that
ye may know that I am the LORD your God.
Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall
ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou
shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and
they shall know that I am the LORD.

the Greeks seek after wisdom:
14:22 - Wherefore tongues are for a sign,
not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying
serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to
the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet

the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear
False signs coming!
- For there shall arise false Christs,
and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that,
if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
- For false Christs and false prophets
shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible,
even the elect.
- And these signs shall follow them that
believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new
- And they went forth, and preached every
where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.

- So then every one of us shall give account
of himself to God.
- Behold, his soul which is lifted up is
not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
- For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by
