Major OT Characters Review
Part I
Before we move on to the Divided Kingdom and the
Kings, etc.,
let us take some time here today and review what
we have 'barely' touched on.
We can do this by reviewing the names of the
main characters from Genesis to Solomon's Temple, etc.
First, notice in the above verse -
I Corinthians 10:11, we see the phrase, "Now
all these THINGS happened unto them for ensamples..."
Let's look back a few verses to see what 'happened.'
vs 5 - these 'examples' are our 'ensamples'
to learn from!
-
vs 7 - eat, drink and play - that is
compared to idolatry!
-
vs 8 - 23,000 fell in one day
-
vs 9 - destroyed of serpents
-
vs 10 - destroyed of the destroyer.
We should learn from what happened to these folks!

Unless, once again, Solomon is proven correct:
-
Ecclesiastes 1:8-11 - All
things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied
with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. The thing that hath
been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall
be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing
whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of
old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former
things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come
with those that shall come after.
As you read these names:
-
know there are a lot more names in the OT that we
are not even mentioning, but the simple fact that their name is mentioned
in the Bible is worth noting. They do prove that all this history
is true - and is factually backed up in history - believe it or not!

only reading them during your daily reading will
you see just how many there are!
