In It FOR Us?

I Samuel 20-31
II Samuel 1
I Chronicles 10
End
of Saul / Beginning of David
Continuing
our "Old Testament" highlights as to what is in those books FOR us, even
though there is nothing in those books TO us! There are many Paulish
churches that tend to ignore the OT. That is a shame. Not only
are they missing the completeness of the Scriptures, it is NOT God's design
at all. II Timothy 2:16 says that ALL
scripture.. that includes all 66 Books of the King James
Bible. While they are not all TO us, they certainly are all FOR
us!
OT Ensamples for us!
Paul even tells us
to look to those OT Scriptures for our ensample! I
Corinthians 10:11 - Now all these
things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition,
upon whom the ends of the world are come.
I
will say it again, "We just continue to see more and more OT applications
falsely taught today during the time of Paul's gospel and the dispensation
of grace!
20:11-17
- covenant of Jonathan with David - it is good to have a good friend!
21-27 -
David a fugitive from Saul
-
David escaped to the Philistine!
Interesting, eh!
-
He feigned insanity.
-
Amalekites are back in the picture,
too!
-
Sensing danger, he fled to the Cave
of Adulam in west Judah; then to Moab; the back to south Judah, in Keilah,
Zip and Maon.
-
He had accumulated 600 followers, Saul
hot after him, but David always escaping.
-
Many of the Psalms are composed in this
period.
-
At En-gedi, Saul was trapped; but David,
refusing to come to the throne by blood, spared Saul's life.
-
David would NOT stretch
forth his hand against the LORD'S anointed!
-
See gospels 'anoint;' Hebrews to Jude
'anoint;' and then see Paul's ONE verse on anoint
-
Gospels
- i.e. Mark 6:13; Luke 4:18, etc.
-
Hebrews to
Jude - James 5:14; I John 2:27 along with Acts
2:17,18
-
Paul's?
II Corinthians 1:21, and that was before
I Cor 13:10 - the KJB is the anointed today.
-
Today, we have the Spirit of God IN
us, not ON us!
-
The Pentecostals falsely claim anointing
- (everyone else talking like them today, too)
-
The Tribulation talks anointing, because
they will have to be again... but not us today - the Book!!
-
And again, at Ziph, Saul acknowledged
being a 'fool' but kept on being one.
-
At Maon, Abigail, a wealthy, tactful
and gracious woman, became David's wife.
-
David finds refuge among the Philistines
again, and was there until the death of Saul.
Saul's visit with the witch of Endor
-
I Samuel 28:6-25
-
Lots of questions
on this one, eh! From God? From the devil? etc.?
-
Saul even had
them put out of the land! I Samuel
28:3 - Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel
had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city.
And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards,
out of the land.
-
And yet said to
the witch that nothing would happen to her! verse
10
-
Witches forbidden
- had to die! Exodus 22:18; ; Leviticus
19:31; 20:27
-
The witch could
tell the future but not know Saul was disguised? verse
8
-
Was even the witch
surprised 'that it worked?' see verse
12
-
Saul found his
future, alright! verses 18,19
-
Who do we turn
to when we are troubled thinking that God is not answering our fears and
needs?
-
God will answer,
but you MUST be in the Book for it all to work effectually in you!
I Thessalonians 2:13
-
Who are the seducing
spirits and doctrines of devils today?
Death of Saul
-
I Samuel 28-31
-
I Chronicles
10
Now
we start looking into David's kingdom...
and what a great series
to see what will be in it all FOR us,
even though it is not
written TO us.
I Chronicles
is similar to II Samuel. It has
to do with the story of David, prefaced with 9 chapters of Genealogies
- from Adam to the Jews' return from captivity; a sort of epitome of all
previous history.
II Samuel
1 - David's lament for Saul and Jonathan!
-
The anointed?
-
Are there mighty men falling today?
-
Sure seems like it - but then, many
are presening an OT / Jewish gospel, thus they can actually 'appear' to
be anointed.
-
They steal the anointing of the Book!
I Corinthians 13:10, etc.
