OT Ensamples for us!
Paul even tells us to look to those OT Scriptures for our ensample!  I Corinthians 10:11 - Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

I will say it again, "We just continue to see more and more OT applications falsely taught today during the time of Paul's gospel and the dispensation of grace!

Main Characters:
(let's not read books or movies, etc. about these folks - the KJB all the information that is truthfully available.  Anything else is just 'speculating' with no proof other than the "could have been's" and all the emotional so-called inspirational stuff)

• Samuel - Hannah's first born
• The Philistines
• Ichabod - Phinehas's child after Elkahan and Phinehas are dead - strong meaning to the name Ichabod!

• As great an ensample as Hannah is, she, along with Ruth, are NOT a type of lady to follow today!  Learn from them but do not try to imitate them!
• OT inspiration - the so-called "ideal mother."
• Her Sanctity, her Sorrow, her Supplication, her Song, her Sacrifice! That makes her the example for the mixed up ladies of today - the OT Honourable and Devout woman!

They may make the claim to be honourable and devout but they stood against Paul in Acts 13:50 and still do today - even if yet behind their honourable and devout smokescreen!  But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

We can't forget the devil will...

• take a woman captive at his will (II Timothy 2:26) if she will not acknowledge the truth.
• lead her out of the house with divers lusts, ever learning and never able to come to he knowledge of the truth! (II TImothy 3:6)...
• change her God created and designed desire to her husband, and he shall rule over thee...
• fulfill his goal for the woman today to have children who will be the oppressor in their family, (Isaiah 3:12)
• get the woman to rule over her man, which will cause her family to err, and destroy the way of thy paths!

Honourable and devout fake!
If you don't, then you are an honourable and devout fake - and believe me, everyone knows it but you - and all that spiritual wonder you portray will burn at your judgment seat!

OT Lady Heroines?
...or do you even know any of the women's names involved with Paul's ministry?
...very little is known about these ladies - but maybe that is exactly the point!  It would certainly fit with Paul's guidance for ladies to serve God in a manner that would actually please God, not themselves or the world, etc.

2:1-10 - Hannah's song - very similiar to Mary's song in Luke 1:46-55
2:12 - ... they knew not the LORD.
2:26 - And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.

3:7 - Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.
3:19 -  And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
3:21 - ...for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

4:9 - Be strong, and quit yourselves like men...  quit yourselves like men, and fight.
4:19 - ... for her pains came upon her.
4:22 - ... The glory is departed from Israel; for the ark of God is taken.

• 1 - OT marriage & children plans and design, etc.
• 1:17 - You have to watch those OT pastoral promises
• 1:11 - Vow makers and bargainers with God...
• 1:22 - no day-care for her child.
• Husband treats wife well, but she was still provoked by her adversary!
• bitterness of soul
• "things" did not help her through her bitterness and hard times
• 1:12-16 - Marked her mouth by the local priest?  He misread what she was doing / saying!  Mark the good folks (Philippians 3:17) and mark the bad folks (Romans 16:17)
• 2:27-34 - bad example of a dad
• 2:12 - kids did not KNOW the LORD.
• 2:17 - the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD. (verses 13-16)
• 2:22 - they would lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation!
• 2:22-25 - they hearkened not unto the voice of their father - it was a little late now, Eli!
• 2:27 - A man of God came to talk to Eli - the priest!
• 2:29 - what Eli did wrong - honoured his sons above the man of God - made himself fat with the chiefest of offerings, etc.
• 2:30-36 - the prophecy against Eli's house
• 2:35 - all that the man of God expects from a faithful priest!

• 3:1-18 - the great Here Am I Lord chapter!
• 3:7 - Samuel did not yet know the LORD
• 3:7 - The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed unto him up to the end of the second time.
• 3:11-14 - Now Samuel hears!
• 3:15-18 - Samuel told Eli everything - ... told him every whit, and hid nothing from him.
• 3:18 - what a good response... ... "It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good."
• 4:9 "Be strong and quit yourselves like men ... and fight
• 4:11 - the ark of God was taken!
• 4:11 - Hophni and Phinehas were slain
• 4:18 - Eli dies at the news
• 4:19-22 - Eli's daughter in law, Phinehas wife, names the child Ichabod - glory of the LORD is departed.
• (sure has good application concerning the word of God today - the glory of the Lord is departing - the KJB!)
