Would to God...
...not being used in vain here anyway... that is just how serious Paul's desire is!

Be such as he is!

Acts 26:29 - And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

Reign with Paul's stuff!

I Corinthians 4:8 - Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

Be wise unto good - simple concerning evil

Romans 16:19 - For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Obedience to / of faith, not "baptism!"

Romans 1:5 - By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Romans 16:26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

So why do we have to know so much about evil?

To be convinced? no faith in the Scriptures, eh?
Waiting for the damage to 'know,' just in case you 'might' be wrong in your conclusions?

Be aware and learn from OT stories!

I Corinthians 10:1 - Moreover, brethren, I would not taht y should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Read 1-13
Not 'how' God provided their escape, but that He DID provide the way to escape.

His conflict for us!

Colossians 2:1 - For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
tears over them
joy because of them
willing to spend for them...

II Corinthians 12:15 - And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
II Corinthians 2:4 - For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.
I Thessalonians 2:17 - But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.

Not to let his tribulations get us down - the attack on the KJB, the attack on Paul's preachings and teachings - don't let them get you down!

Ephesians 3:13 - Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Read the stuff before - verses 1-12 the 'wherefore' so you know what it is all about - our glory. That is the message that Paul was given!
Then read the "For this cause..." stuff at the end - it is for us! Our glory is His glory!
