Specific Helps for YOU!
- from
the
Corinthians
-
Our physical
walk!
I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given
unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly
than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt
to every man the measure of faith. Romans
12:1-3
AFter noticing
the out of balance Pauline folks who try hard to justify ignoring Corinthians,
I will say that we can and still should look to Corinthians
for Scriptural direction TO us.
We just
must remember:
-
There are still
Jews in the audiences in Corinthians!
-
Written in the
Acts
19-21 time!
-
The Corinthian
church folks were truly messed up folks - we can all sure relate to them!
-
The physical kingdom
hadn't yet been done away with totally yet - that which was to come hadn't
come!
-
Because 'it' has
come today, the source to know about 'helps' today is from the KJB - not
from Paul and his people physically!
-
So, Paul's stuff,
including Corinthians,
is still TO us and so the help from Paul is found in all the KJB - rightly
divided, rightly read and rightly studied!
So now - to
us -Romans 12:1
-
bodies - a living
sacrifice... - physical - things we do in our daily walk.
-
choices:
-
1) ignore any
physical Christianity - 'We can't do it anyway!" and just ride the grace
wave!
-
2) accept the
verse yet head to the Gospels and early Acts for the directions and turn
to Hebrews to Jude for the consequences!
-
3) wrongly look
to Paul - ignore Corinthians as well as the others - and just concentrate
on the prison epistles - ride the grace wave!
-
4) seek Paul's
help from the KJB - strengthen your faith - learn what Christ did TO us
as well as FOR us - and respond like men - quit ye like men - it is our
reasonable service!
Here are the verses we deal with in the audio sermons
Sunday AM audio
sermon notes:
The KJB will help us with our physical walk - presenting our bodies
a living sacrifice, etc. ...
-
I Corinthians 2:5 - the power of God
today is the KJB - read it over and over and watch the power of God work
in your lives by YOUR actions. It worketh
effectually in you that believe...
I Thessalonians 2:13
-
I Corinthians 3:21-23 - all things
are yours - God to Christ to us - we are joint heirs!
-
I Corinthians 5:6-13 - putting away
that wicked person. Who are the 'wicked people' in your lives.
Note: Paul is talking about the brethren here.
-
I Corinthians 6:19, 20 - to glorify
God in our body and in our spirit! The 'walk' is still an important
element of being a Christian.
-
I Corinthians 8:9 - not let our liberty
cause our children to stumble!
Sunday PM audio sermon notes:
The KJB will help us with our physical walk - presenting our bodies
a living sacrifice, etc. ...
-
I Corinthians 15:34 - to awake to righteousness
-
I Corinthians 15:51-58 - to be stedfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord - it won't be in vain.
-
I Corinthians 16:14-18 - learn how
to be refreshing to others and be refreshed from others.
-
II Corinthians 4:5 - get the help from
Paul preaching Christ Jesus the Lord as they are our servants to help us
- for Jesus' sake.
-
II Corinthians 10:15 - with our faith
growing so others may hear also.
-
II Corinthians 12:19 - to be edified
and to be edifying to others
-
II Corinthians 13:5 - prove our own
selves! Assurance based on rightly dividing should give us even more
confidence in the Scriptures, not in a feeling!
-
II Corinthians 13:9 - to be strong
and not so 'dependable' on the Bible - even our perfection should grow!
Not to 'not need the Bible' but not to have to rely on it as a crutch -
we should be able to live as a Christian being supported by the Scriptures,
not hiding in them!
