So, What DOES Paul Preach, Anyway?

Part I

This was a joy to just sit down and consider these things.
Just an overall observation of Paul's teachings and then looking at the Scriptures in a quick detailed review.

In other words, let's look at the puzzle IN IT'S PLACE - all the pieces fitting together...
well, more are into place, anyway!

The others?
They can live in their:

hatred of Paul
hatred of the KJB being 'perfect' in a complete sense, not just errorless, etc.
own world if they want.
their mess of a life
confusion
private verse by verse interpretations
marriage disasters
rebellious household (including the wife or husband, not just the teens!)
fear in this world and the direction it is headed
frustrations
perversions
fantasies
religion
education
'gain'
their numbers
anger mismanagement
heresies - many of which are damnable
impatience
they live in 'another gospel'
and follow 'another spirit'
by hearing all about "another Jesus"

Paul is NOT any of those things - although I MUST SAY, our flesh can have it's way, amen? Romans 7:23-25 - But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Not About Me!

As I review these things from Paul, I am constantly aware (thanks to Paul, too, by the way) that it is all about Jesus Christ - not Paul - not myself - not others - but Jesus Christ and that which is perfect... and all that He did to us and for us - the RISEN LIFE! - It is ALL given to us in the King James Bible - completed - nothing more to come except Christ Himself!

"Being" while we learn to "do" what we should do and learn to try NOT to do what we should NOT do all only to please God!

Remember, we couldn't please God before we trusted Christ! Romans 8:8 - So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
It isn't all about 'doing' - it is more about 'being' while we have to be here in the pollutions of this world. We have not escaped all of them, yet. We have escaped many, but in our American freedom we have developed a pride, a fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness and we have not strengthened the hand of the poor and needy - now they are coming back to bite the hand that fed them! CHRISTIANITY

Anyway...

Let's begin our overview of the big picture
of what Paul Preaches!
It should be a joy to review and remind ourselves of these things!

I. A confidence and assurance! Because of this assurance...

Acts 17:31 - Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Ephesians 1:19-20 - And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Colossians 2:2 - That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
I Thessalonians 1:5 - For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

I. ..we can have a confidence not found in the Gospels or in the Tribulation!

Ephesians 3:12 - In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (not Hebrews 4:16 - we HAVE His mercy and grace now.)
Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:3 - For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
(not in Hebrews 3:14 - IF)

A Confidence in the Scriptures for our...

Salvation!

Ephesians 1:13 - word of truth - the gospel of your salvation
I Thessalonians 2:13 - worketh in you that believe?
I Corinthians 13:10 - that which is perfect has come
II Timothy 2:25 - acknowledge the truth
Philippians 4:9 - ...and the God of peace shall be with you.
Galatians 1:6 - another gospel? accursed?
I Corinthians 11:1-4 - teaching another Jesus - another gospel - another spirit - Why would Paul be so concerned?

Comfort!

I Thessalonians 4:18 - Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Growth and working power!

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
I Thessalonians 2:13 - For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Doctrine - II Timothy 3:16
Reproof - II Timothy 3:16
Correction - II Timothy 3:16
Instruction in Righteousness - II Timothy 3:16

Ability to break the snare of the devil!

II Timothy 2:26 - In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Acknowledge the truth!

Answers!

Colossians 4:5-6 - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
II Corinthians 5:12 - For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

II. Paul IS our apostle
Not Peter, James, John, Jude - or even Jesus' teachings to the Jews - only to Paul!

Galatians 2:8 - (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
Romans 11:13 - For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
I Corinthians 9:1 - Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
I Corinthians 15:9 - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
I Timothy 2:7 - Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
II Timothy 1:11 - Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

III. Paul is our ensample to follow, not our example to imitate!

Philippians 3:17 - Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
II Thessalonians 3:9 - Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

We also should be that ensample to others - this is our missions purpose and mission field for us and all missionaries!

I Thessalonians 1:6-10 - And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
