How To Understand the King James 1611 Bible

This is a series of sermons for folks who think the King James Bible is confusing, contradictory and archaic.
The KJB is not only the easiest bible to read, it is the easiest to understand.
The KJB is God's Holy Scriptures and is the ONLY Holy Scripture!
Here is how it can be so simply understood:

Commandments from the Risen Christ to Paul and On To Us Today
Part II

And we have confidence in the Lord touching you,
that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
II Thessalonians 3:4
For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you,
and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
I Thessalonians 1:9
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me,

1. Be thou ...

an example OF the believers in ...

I Timothy 4:12 - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

not therefore ashamed...

II Timothy 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

II Timothy 4:15 - Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

somebody did Paul much evil

he withstood Paul's words!

withstood: opposed

nobody stood with him, either! vs 14-18
he didn't hold it against them! vs 16
he went on with what the Lord wanted him to do! vs 17
God delivered him! - 17b,18

Because of his preaching to the Gentiles - that is what God wanted him to do - vs 17

2. Speak boldly

Ephesians 6:20 - For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

boldly - courageously; without timidity or fear; with confidence intrepidly;
Intrepidly - Without trembling or shrinking from danger; fearlessly; daringly; resolutely.

warning: ladies, study to know your place in all this!

I Timothy 2:12 - But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

3. Be able to admonish and be admonishable!

Acts 27:9 - Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

"admonish" - 1. To warn or notify of a fault; to reprove with mildness. 2. To counsel against wrong practices; to caution or advise. 3. To instruct or direct.
but read verses 10-11... the owner didn't listen
then read verse 21 ... finally, he listened
the read verse 22,23 - Paul still had the 'good cheer' element - from the WORDS OF GOD!

Romans 15:14 - And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

filled with all knowledge?

do you know your book enough to admonish someone else?

or is just your opinion or what someone else told you?

Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

is this your music in your church?

it is the word of Christ that is doing that - not the music!

I Thessalonians 5:12 - And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

the pastor, teacher, etc.

note: 'over you' means no lady teacher, etc.

II Thessalonians 3:15 - Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother -

unless they treat you like their enemy or target, etc.
Paul has his instructions as when to leave others, etc.
See II Timothy 4:16,17 again - he preached!

4. Abhor evil

Romans 12:9 -Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Abhor something, take it away or get away...

but then give them something good to cleave to!

"dissimulation" - a hiding under a false appearance; a feigning; false pretension; hypocrisy. Dissimulation may be simply concealment of the opinions, sentiments or purpose; but it includes also the assuming of a false or counterfeit appearance which conceals the real opinions or purpose.

Also called being a fake - ashamed of the situation you find yourself in, etc.

"Evil"

1. Having bad qualities of a natural kind; mischievous; having qualities which tend to injury, or to produce mischief.
2. Having bad qualities of a moral kind; wicked; corrupt; perverse; wrong;
3. Unfortunate; unhappy; producing sorrow, distress, injury or calamity

Evil still exists!

Romans 1:30 - Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
I Corinthians 15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
II Corinthians 13:7 - Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
Galatians 1:4 - Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Ephesians 5:16 - Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Philippians 3:2 - Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
I Thessalonians 5:22 - Abstain from all appearance of evil.
II Thessalonians 3:3 - But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
I Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
II Timothy 3:13 - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

5. Walk not as other Gentiles walk:

Ephesians 4:17-21

in the vanity of their mind
alienated from the life of God

through the ignorance that is in them

because of the blindness of their heart

they are past feeling
they have given themselves over unto lasciviousness
they work all uncleanness with greediness

you won't learn this 'lifestyle' from following your rightly divided KJB!
They can justify anything with any reason to ignore the truth!

6. Do all things without murmuring and disputings

Philippians 2:14-16 - Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Why? We don't follow through with Paul's pattern of manner of life, etc.
Do what God would have us do and learn how to handle the junk we see, and we won't have to murmur or dispute! Paul knew what to do when he was challenged - and he did it - with confidence and boldness - and peace!

7. Wait patiently for our hope and salvation

Romans 8:25 - But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Read verses 18-31 for great encouragement to be patient - it all works out in the end!

I Corinthians 13:7 - Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
II Thessalonians 1:4 - So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
II Thessalonians 3:5 - And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
II Timothy 2:3 - Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
II Timothy 3:11 - Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
II Timothy 4:5 - But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Thankfully we don't have to endure through to the end or else and lose hope along with our salvation!

Mark 13:13 - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
I Peter 1:13 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Hebrews 12:15 - Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
