Look up the following verses - and commit them to memory or at least mark your Bible - these verses deal with what the Scriptures say about the Scriptures!

• Scripture of truth!
• Daniel 10:21 - But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
• Not knowing the scriptures then got them into big trouble!  How about today?
• Matthew 21:42 - Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
• Old Testament scriptures were fulfilled!
• Matthew 26:56 - But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
• Why people erred - they knew not the scriptures.  How about today?  Do they even have the Scriptures?
• Matthew 22:29 - Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
• Mark 12:24 - And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
• Old Testament scriptures still had Christ in them!
• Luke 24:27 - And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
• Does anyone 'burn' with desire to hear the scriptures today or even when you are reading them?
• Luke 24:32 - And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
• Luke 24:45 - Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
• Scriptures show eternal life
• John 5:39 - Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
• Reasoned out of the scriptures
• Acts 17:2 - And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
• Search the scriptures daily
• Acts 17:11 - These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
• A man mighty in the scriptures but didn't know anything about Paul!
• Acts 18:24 - And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
• Shewing by the scriptures
• Acts 18:28 - For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
• Holy Scriptures
• Romans 1:2 - (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
• Patience and comfort of the scriptures brings us hope!
• Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
• Scriptures of the prophets
• Romans 16:26 - But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
• Christ did what he did according to the scriptures!
• I Corinthians 15:3,4 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
• Our children can & should have the scriptures to this day!  Wonder how my of our children are actually given the Scriptures in homes or maybe they are being taught just the old testament by teaching Jewish stories ONLY, etc.
• II Timothy 3:15 - And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Wresting with the scriptures is a tribulation characteristic but we see it happening more and more, so that ought to tell us something, eh?  I suppose that is why it is becoming so popular to study the Bible today the way they do!  WRONG!  II Timothy 2:15,16 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

• II Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
