First comes crucifying our flesh / world...
Galatians 5:24 - And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14 - But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

...then we can rise & live our family life with Him as designed by Him which was then presented to and patterned by Paul.
Colossians 2:12 - Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
I Timothy 1:16 - Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

King James Churches Included
It seems that most preachers - KJB included - don't think that Rev 3:14-17 has anything to do about their church - KJB, included.
These preachers want to glorify and magnify the Philadelphian church era and the preachers, etc. as their pattern for today, forgetting that it was all God who was responsible for the open and closed doors!  See Revelation 3:8  I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Could the lack of solid RD then be one of the reasons we are heading deeper and deeper into apostasy today - the obvious result of profane and vain babblings bringing an increase of ungodliness?

Apostasy
Apostasy is 'more' than just about the local church - it is everywhere.  Church is just one of the many areas that is falling apart.
In order for this new church stuff to appeal to so many folks today, apostasy has to be happening 'outside' the church as well.

II Thessalonians 2:3-8

Apostasy in their church has happened for many already!

Choices:

• Stay in and try to get the kids to be 'happy' and 'involved' - at least 'hear' about God, anyway, and maybe 'a Jesus' of some kind, anyway - "After all, it is only a name..."
• Stay in and fight - and watch your kids get unhappy with all the unrest, unhappiness, bitterness, complaints, etc. and never hear and see what is GOOD about being a Christian - even if it is in a KJB church.
• Leave with bitterness and strife!
• Leave quietly!

Folks who choose to stick with their 'growing' church today will have to:

• put up with their music, be it smooth syrupy yuck, hillbilly, rock or evangelistic jazz - or just the opposite - dead slow accapella dirges!
• put up with salvation messages all the time!
• put up with deep doctrinal dissertations that have absolutely no practicality to them - other than to prove your a bible believer or not, so they say!
• put their kids into lousy SS classes with horrible music and videos that emphasize 'fun' with cartoon characters and have some horrible influence by other kids because the teachers don't dare put down any rules - even if they go against the family's at home!
• allow their teens taken further from their family influences!
• be paying for buildings and feeling guilty for not paying for more - give it all Sunday!
• feel guilty for not jumping into the pond headfirst!
• feel guilty for not reaching the community!
• feel bad that ALL their sins still need to be confessed - especially those they did 'against' the church and the pastor!
• do little rituals that make them 'feel' better for the time being!
• be flattered that they are a wonderful person!
• and if they are not that wonderful person, they will receive 'free' psychiatrist sessions - some live from the pulpit!

• little or no bible at all - no preaching to 'speak of'!
• plenty of feel good music - man, your flesh will finally feel great!
• happy & excited kids interested in all that goes on - well, for themselves, anyway!
• somebody else to 'take care of your kids - even on Sunday!
• no change of lifestyle or life morals standards, etc.  save money and time on appearance at church, etc.
• big churches - which are great places to hide and pretend - and to feel better when you see others worse than you!
• lots of so-called friends!
• friendly flattering pastors!
• great activities!
• no pressure to do anything at home - the church will provide it all for you!

...their  families are still falling apart - they are not getting any feeding from a church designed by Ephesians 4:11-16!
We are seeing that our families have been designed by the Great Commission / Gospel design.  Many are actually teaching their children in the same manner and message that Christ went to the Jews.  Is that a problem?  Well, the Jews killed Christ.  Could that be why most kids and teens today 'want out' when their days of freedom arrive?

• their kids are heading for Amos 8:13 and / or II Thessalonians 2:9-12?
• the husband and Paul - so new to him - what to do - what does rightly divide really mean?
• the wife trying to hold it all together through home education or her outward or inward control skills that she was handed over to do with!
• both parents are just too busy - too many irons in the fire - to many projects that 'just have to get done!'
• the adults acting childish - remember, that is one of the goals of the pastor/church/Book - to help us all grow up!
• all the family knows is how to 'copy' the local church design and it has been so wrong for so many years!  No wonder they can't / won't do it!  It wasn't working at church so it won't work at home.  You can no longer hide from the truth now!

Folks WITH a church
And if you still have a decently proper church, take heed and count your blessings.  These kinds of churches are dying everywhere!

See Ephesians 4:20-24 - But ye have not so learned Christ;  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

See II Thessalonians 2:13-17 -  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:  Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,  Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
