Statement of Faith
People have always wondered what our 'statement of faith' is, was, is going to be or whatever...  I think we have some things we have learned as we have traveled down Paul's "more excellent way." Learning the way of God more perfectly has brought confidence and more joy not only to us as individuals but to our little church family.

So let's look at what I have no problem in stating to folks
as to where we are with our preaching and direction up to this point in time.
- January 1, 2006 -

9.  We Believe:
An Absolute God deserves Absolute Music
for praise and worship as well as for our own selves.

10.  I will encourage...
our Missionary Program to be emphasizing taking Paul's gospel to the ends of the earth which will put the emphasis on our website ministry until God provides us with a missionary who will present the same gospel.

11.  We will preach:
...family based on the design of the local church purpose, etc.
PS - This modern Christian emphasis on the family and the homeschool movement that talks of turning the heart of the fathers to the children is a Great Commission concept - with Malachi 4:6, see Luke 1:17 - And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.  That was John the Baptist's thing...  we are looking to Paul, not John the Baptist - a totally different preparation for us today.  But the slogan sells books!

Conclusion

Now, remember what we said in the beginning of this
end of the year / beginning of the year series?

We must remember some key verses as we 'make our position' known!

Bible, Not Us!
The Bible, not us, will work effectually in them that believe! I Thessalonians 2  We plant and water - and THAT IS ALL!

Preaching/Teaching
Preaching must have teaching and teaching must have preaching! Ephesians 4:11

II Timothy 2:23-26 is and if not already, must become essential in our witness - whether verbal or visual, whether in the streets or in the home or at the table... - Only by pride cometh contention - let them get angry at us, but not us at them!  But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

We must live what we say!
Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Philippians 1:20 - According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
I Thessalonians 4:1 - Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Be Patient
And we must remember that it took us a long time to get to this point and we have NOT YET ATTAINED, either!

Finally - remember the Bible makes direct mention of the word GRACE 73 times in Paul's epistles.  This is called the dispensation of grace - and we can not forget that!  Thank the Lord for His grace and mercy towards us as well as others who have tried to teach us things in the past!

Lost:
I Corinthians 2:14 - But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The brethren:
Galatians 6:1 - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
II Thessalonians 3:14,15 - And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
