My King James 1611 Bibles

Philippians 3:12-14 - Not
as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but
I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended
of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
Jesus.
II Timothy 3:16,17
- All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That
the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Ephesians 4:12,13
- For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of
the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man,
unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
God's goal for us today is that we will someday stand perfect and complete
in all the will of God and that we might perfect that which is lacking
in our faith? Colossians 4:12; I Thessalonians
3:10
But until then, my King James Bibles have been doing His work in my
life!
So tonight, I will continue my 'thanksgiving' message on this Book
for the year 2005
Sure - it is God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, but without
my King James Bible,
I wouldn't know anything about them nor would I have
them, nor them me!
...for thou hast magnified thy word above
all thy name.

Priceless:

Nobody owns it!

The price paid for it is beyond measure!
blood
pain
lives
children
wives
husbands
jobs
homes / belongings
comforts
pleasures
the future for those folks
was ripped away so that we could have that SAME book with those same pages
& same words today
Acts 15:26 -
Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 27:10 - And
said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and
much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
My King James 1611 Bible has shown me:

Where I went wrong in my life - and am still learning!
-
Where I am wrong in my life - and am still finding out!
-
Where I could go wrong in my life - and am still learning more things to
watch out for!
And yet through it all, I have been cleansed and will be kept cleansed!!!!
But those works? Well, some will burn and some won't, but praise
the Lord, I won't burn - according to that Book!!!
It has taught me how to curb my pride:

from my past
-
how to be right today
-
how to grow righter for tomorrow!
It has told me the truth about:
-
the past
-
the present
-
the eternal future for this world and all who are in it!
It has shown me 'truth,' not just 'the truth!'
It has kept me from getting caught up in - and got me out of...:
-
camps!
-
fables and endless genealogies which minister questions, rather than godly
edifying!
-
foolish and unlearned questions and contentions that gender strifes and
are unprofitable and vain!
-
false doctrines - the obvious and the sly, subtle that 'seem' right but
are NOT - ALPHA; Purpose Driven, Creeks, Saddleback, etc. - and even from
the KJB as improperly applied!
-
today's modern Christianity - especially the trendy independent baptist
church movement!
-
the Great Commission and all the missionary trends and mission fields that
promote the same thing that the modern churches are promoting!
-
being religious and 'churchy!'
-
pastor's guilt and pressure tactics - all from wrongly dividing applications!
-
pastoral worship and followship! (Las Vegas, Solomon's Happiness,
FBBC in Rochester, Calvinism and the Greek in SD, PBI, ALPHA, Creeks, Saddleback,
PD and now the Independent Baptist's Great Commission 'spurts of growth,
etc.
It has given me something 'safe' to talk about with folks!

If interested, anyway - or I have just had to learn to 'be still' and 'study
to be quiet!'
It has given me something 'concrete & with authority' to give to
others!
It has helped me prepare for judgment!
-
not just in detail, but to help me realize the truth and reality of it!
-
it will be nobody's fault but mine, and no body's credit except His!
-
it is about testing works, not sins - and not 'me!'
It has helped me better to SEE what is important!
-
(more and more) and in the right focus - focus on Paul!
It has helped me better to HEAR what is important!
It has helped me better to SPEAK about what is important, or to just
'be still!'
It has given me something to leave with my kids and grandkids that
they will not be able to get in their times!
(I have no money for them - my clothes won't fit them
for years - little inheritance that they want... - just sermons, studies,
videos and cassettes, DVD's about the Book!)

It is alive!

The Spirit of God vs the spirit of antichrist in all the other bibles -
only too obvious today!
The English Language design!
-
words, letters, structure - all godly tight!
I am able to enjoy helping others see how to read it!
-
and to get joy, peace and understanding directly from the Book itself -
not some 'magical spirit!
How it keeps us together by having something in common!
How it has helped my wife be my wife as I have grown and learned
these things.
(Still working on going from crass to uncooth to cooth!)
It has given me something worth contending for!
It has helped me through personal "grief!"

we should not grieve for the brethren! I
Thessalonians 4:13,14

we could grieve for the lost, unless we told them
/ or tried, anyway
-
why more grief for animals? now there are grief
counselors for dogs! Ecclesiastes
3:21 Who
knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast
that goeth downward to the earth?

We tend to forget that 'dead' people are still alive
- ALL of history is still alive - Heaven or Hell!
It is the source of my:
light
picture of Christ (able to ID the antichrist)
legitimate fellowship with Christ - through Paul
answers to questions to life
gradual perfection / understanding process
guidelines for others (trying not
to put my opinion in there!)
knowledge to study for me to learn the things
that I SHOULD know
It is a healer to me when wounded!
(many wounds are self-inflicted, too)
It is my medicine chest as well as others!

the place to go where more and more go to get pills!
It is a weapon I can have, carry and use!

and am actually getting better at it!
It opened my eyes to what is going on in the world!

jobs
lack of joy and kindness
news
politics
America
teens / children
education
economy
religious movements
tares
one world ...
wars and rumours of war
weather
It has shown me, and still does, who I really am!
It explains to me why I still blow things in my walk!
It has helped me sing His praises correctly!

Psalms / hymns / spiritual songs - mostly about us these days - little
worship and few hymns!
-
foundational design of music - Japheth as a standard.

without the flesh / beat - Ham
-
with good godly melodies - Shem
-
clean harmonies, etc. - Japheth
It is the pure music that I can do that actually pleases God - from
me to Him!
It is a way to praise Him - using Psalms of David and Paul's words!
It has given me guidance on music to help others consider the same
musical thoughts!
It has helped me be able to explain others and their ways!

as well as knowing that it would do the same for others about me and my
ways!
If we could take this book and turn it into a flesh and blood person,
we would have Jesus Christ in our hand. If we could take Jesus Christ
and turn Him into words, then we would have the King James Bible!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:1,14
It has given me something eternally valuable to teach!

It is certainly worth the effort, the cost, the sacrifice and the time,
etc.

It has been worth it!
-
But I wish I had given Him more!
