Good & Bad Testimonies

 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf:
but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
Romans 16:19

But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
I Corinthians 8:3

These are the testimonies of the folks Paul knows - as stated by Paul.

Some are good - some are bad - see if yours in in here!

What is your testimony like?

I Corinthians
1:10,11-17,29 - division / contentions / pride / glorying in the flesh
2:5 - faith that stands in the wisdom of men
3:1-9 - carnal / babies / envying / strife / divisions / bragging on men
4:18-21 - puffed up
5:6 - their glorying is not good / leads to more problems - today's purpose driven modern christianity is a result of this stuff
6:1 - problems with each other
etc. - a list of bad testimonies chapter to chapter as Paul preaches to these folks
II Corinthians
1:5,6 - sufferings of leaders and the folks
7:1,16 - filthiness of the flesh and spirit
8:1-4; 12-15 - confidence from Paul
9:1-6 - good zeal to help others
Galatians
1:6 - removed from teaching and preaching, etc. of Christ - gone back to their old ways or to a new modern way, etc.
3:1 - foolish / bewitched
4:9 - turn again to weak and beggarly elements
Ephesians
1:1,15 - good faith - willing and able to grow
4:20,21 - most have learned from Christ - from 'their Bible' for us today...
Philippians
1:3-6 - good fellowship in the gospel
2:17,18 - Christ still gets preached
4:14 - have well done - helped Paul
Colossians
1:2,3-8 - faithful / faith and love / producing fruit - love in the spirit
2:4,5 - order - steadfast of faith
I Thessalonians
1:3-10 - work of faith / labour of love / patience of hope / good ensample to others!  Real!
3:6,7; 8-10 - faith & charity - their good testimony gave Paul and the others strength to keep going on!
II Thessalonians
1:3,4 - growing faith and charity towards each other
3:4 - willingness to learn and grow
3:11 - oops - there were still a few who wouldn't do right - those are the ones who were to be 'ashamed' by others having no company with them.
Philemon
1:1-7 - love and faith toward all saints - effectual communication of their faith - great love - refreshing!
20 - refreshing to others AND to their pastor!
21 - did even more than preached.  Above and beyond the call of duty!
These testimonies are ones that Paul was telling Timothy:

I Timothy

1:4-7 - some have swerved and turned aside unto vain jangling - don't even know what they are saying, etc. (see verse 5)
1:19,20 - shipwrecked lives
5:10-15 - a widow
5:17 - elders
6:4,5 - bible correctors, etc.
6:9,10; 17-18 - rich

II Timothy

1:5 - Timothy's testimony to Paul - a good one!
2:16-18 - erred from the truth - have overthrown the faith of some.
2:20 - a great house has both vessels of gold and of silver as well as wood and of earth - some to honour and some to dishonour
3:8 - resist the truth / corrupt minds / reprobate concerning the faith
4:3,4 - not endure sound doctrine - turn away their ears from the truth, turned unto fables
4:10 - Demas, loves this present world - left the church, no bible reading, not hearing the preaching, etc.
4:11 - Mark - profitable to his pastor for the ministry!
4:14,15 - Alexander - did evil to his pastor, etc.
