Judge not...
a beam in your own eye - today with Paul?
Witnessing to the 'dogs' &
'swine' of America?
Matthew
7:1-6
1: Judge
not, that ye be not judged.
2: For with
what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete,
it shall be measured to you again.
-
First Note: Paul never uses the word 'hypocrite.'
-
Matthew, Mark, Luke
only
-
Interesting, eh! You have to know Paul's stuff
to understand that significant observation!
-
Jesus is directing his comments to the 'hypocritical
Jews,' (see verse 5)
not the average Joel Jew.
-
As I will continue to say over and over - and which
solves these issues instantly, "This is not written TO us Gentiles today!"
-
"As an eye for an eye," "forgive or not
be forgiven" - this is just another teaching from the Gospel &
will be up against during the Millennium!
-
Note: Even during the times of the gospels, there
were judgments that were to take place by the people!
-
John 7:24 - Judge
not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
-
Luke 7:43 - Simon
answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said
unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
-
Luke 12:57 - Yea,
and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
-
Matthew 7:15 - Beware
of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves.
-
People are just so against any kind of judgment today!
-
Judgment means authority and authority is not a welcome
thing these days!
-
It isn't being taught in the schools, that is for
sure!
Paul on Judgment
So, what does Paul do with this modern & false
teaching of "Judge not, that ye be not judged?"
-
An 'anti-judgmental' verse that is used against Christians
is falsely claimed in Romans 2:1 - Therefore
thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein
thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest
the same things.
-
This is often thrown at a Christian by many an today,
as is
Matthew 7:1,
but as Matthew 7:1
is directed towards hypocrites, Romans
2:1+ is directed to lost people today
-
Note the word, "therefore"
- that sends it all back to the 1st chapter
of Romans, noting verses
28-32.
-
People may ask, "So who was Paul guy to say all the
things he said with such authority?
-
Romans 7:14-25
-
He was chosen by God!
-
thorn in the flesh, rude in speech, base, murderer,
persecutor, etc.
-
He was a new creature!
-
He was God's workmanship!
-
He was the apostle to the Gentiles with the way of
God more perfectly!
-
He preached a more excellent way!
-
He was their helper of their joy so they could stand
even stronger by faith!
-
He was the one that the Risen Christ went to with
his teachings to the Gentiles.
-
He became the man who would lead Gentiles and Jews
to the God of Peace, the Risen Saviour and not to another Jesus!
-
He was the one who went to the Gentiles with 'that
which was in part' so we could have 'that which is perfect'
today!
-
He had that authority!
-
II Corinthians 10:8 - For
though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath
given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be
ashamed:
-
Titus 2:15 - These
things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise
thee.
-
Paul said we are 'supposed' to 'grow'
in judgment!
-
Philippians 1:9-11 -
And
this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and
in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye
may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled
with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory
and praise of God.
-
I Corinthians 11:19 - For
there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may
be made manifest among you.
-
II Corinthians 7:11 - For
behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness
it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation,
yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge!
In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
-
Read the whole context -II
Corinthians 7:8-16
-
II Timothy 2:15 -
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
-
Romans 12:2 -
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.
-
Ephesians 5:6-11 -
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore
partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light
in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is
in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable
unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove them.
-
Making false judgment or no judgment at all is being
childish!
-
How many little children know how to make the proper
judgment?
-
I know, many parents think their children can, but
they can't!!!
-
Ephesians 4:14
- ... children - tossed to and fro,
and carried about with every wind of doctrine..
that is a child!
-
Following Paul will help us grow in judgment!!!!
-
Following a rightly divided today Bible will truly
help us grow up!
-
rightly dividing takes away any opportunity to privately
interpret, be tossed to and fro, carried about with every wind of doctrine,
be deceived, follow flattery, accept another Jesus, etc.
-
But how many want to Christians grow up anyway, today?
-
They are enjoying the fruits of darkness!
-
It is too fun to be a child!
-
lovers of pleasures... having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof... For of this sort are they which creep
into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with
divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of
the truth... they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts
shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears ... and they
shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

-
Paul does say we are just not supposed to judge the brethren!
-
Romans 14:10-13 - But
why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother?
for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written,
As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue
shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of
himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but
judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall
in his brother's way.
-
Give account
-
Gospels - every idle word
-
Matthew 12:36 - But
I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give
account thereof in the day of judgment.
-
Dispensation of Grace
-
Romans 14:12 - So
then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
-
We will be judged by Paul's gospel, thus we can also judge using Paul's
gospel!
-
Romans 2:16 -
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according
to my gospel.
-
Paul is our builder - the fire of judgment can not
affect the foundation or the good materials attached; only the bad building
materials will burn!
-
I Corinthians 3:10-15
-
II Corinthians 5:10 -
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one
may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done,
whether it be good or bad.
-
If they accuse us of 'judging' then so be it.
It isn't at all what we are doing - (unless, of course, you are...!!!!)
-
Galatians 4:17: They
zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye
might affect them. But
it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only
when I am present with you.
-
II Corinthians 5:11 -
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made
manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
-
Romans 2:4 - Or
despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering;
not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
-
Romans 11:22 -
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell,
severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness:
otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
-
II Timothy 2:24-26 -
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men,
apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the
truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will.
-
I Thessalonians 2:2 - But
even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated,
as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the
gospel of God with much contention.
Odds
and Ends Judgment verses from Paul
-
Acts 17:31,32 - Because
he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness
by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto
all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. And when they heard
of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will
hear thee again of this matter.
-
Romans 3:4-9 - God
forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That
thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou
art judged. But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God,
what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as
a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? For if the truth
of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also
judged as a sinner? And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and
as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose
damnation is just. What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise:
for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under
sin;
Pre Book era - in part - See I
Corinthians 13:8-10
-
I Corinthians 2:14-16 - But
the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they
are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself
is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may
instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
-
I Corinthians 5:11-13 - But
now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called
a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or
a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what
have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them
that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away
from among yourselves that wicked person.
-
I Corinthians 6:5 - I
speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you?
no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
-
I Corinthians 10:15 - I
speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
-
I Corinthians 11:31,32 -
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are
judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with
the world.
Today
-
We receive those above through the book now.
-
Colossians 2:16 - Let
no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday,
or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
The desire to "Help" others
involves judging...
3: And why
beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not
the beam that is in thine own eye?
4: Or how
wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye;
and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5: Thou hypocrite,
first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly
to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
-
Amongst the family - brethren!
-
Mote or beam, it isn't your business - take care
of yourself, first!
-
Both Jesus to Paul and Jesus to the Jews does He
say, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself."
-
So, take care of yourself first!
-
What all did Christ do FOR and TO you?
-
Despise, etc.?
-
Victory?
-
Galatians 6:3-5
-
I Timothy 4:15,16
-
manner of life
-
Philippians 1:9,10
-
I Thessalonians 1:9
-
then you can see clearly! ...then thy brother...
-
II Timothy 2:23-26
-
I Thessalonians 3:10
-
Colossians 2:1-7
-
They need Paul - rightly divided KJB, etc.
6: Give
not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before
swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend
you.
-
Jesus teachings to the Gentiles? NO!
-
Matthew 10:5,6 - These
twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way
of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But
go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
-
Matthew 15:24 - But
he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house
of
Israel.
-
Matthew 24:13,14 -
-
But they eventually did - Great Commission!
-
They try to teach that stuff to the 'lost' today!
-
It is the RISEN STUFF through Paul that we are to teach to the Gentiles
and in the dispensation of grace!
-
Still, the same results will come about with folks we try to tell about
Paul, etc.!
-
'rend' - trampled under their feet - and separate or part from us with
violence.
-
People would rather live a shipwrecked life with moments of fleshly lustful
satisfaction, etc. even if it was satisfied through world philosophy and/or
religious baloney.
-
People today like living in their snare - at least most of it is being
provided, for now, anyway!
-
They just want to Demas Christians
-
II Timothy 4:10 - For
Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world,
-
I guess America is still full of dogs and swine today, eh!
-
Gentiles are dogs during the Gospel times!
-
Swine reference is to to the women!
-
Proverbs 11:22 - As
a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without
discretion.
-
II Peter 2:22 - But
it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned
to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in
the mire.
-
We must be coming up to the tribulation, times sure
does seem to be getting closer and closer, these days!
