Serious
Christians
Part VII
How should a serious Christian
see the King James Bible? Part V
Today, only through the King James 1611 Bible, these are the words that we can find and build
our... ...Confidence!
Not easy to follow Paul!
Acts 26:16-21
His gospel pushes for changing one's life.
Jesus changes our soul, Paul changes our walk!
There is a reason or two for this verse...
II Timothy 2:3 - Thou
therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
It is others will have a hard heart and will be your
hardness!
Remember the hard times Paul had:
years of tears
personal persecutions
troubled on every side (yet not distressed)
perplexed (but not in despair)
cast down (but not destroyed)
pressed out of measure
pressed above strength
despaired of life
called the enemy
called an evil doer
endured hardness
loved less when doing right by loving more
preaches LIFE CHANGES to Christians, not just soul
changes.
But Paul took it well!
II Corinthians 12:10 -
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities,
in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then
am I strong.
Gospels = must forsake
family and friends to learn and do right.
Matthew 10:35 - For
I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter
against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:37 -
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he
that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Luke 12:53 - The
father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father;
the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the
mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against
her mother in law.
Paul's gospel = family and friends will forsake
you while learning and desiring do right.
I Timothy 4:10 -
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the
living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
II Corinthians 12:15 - And
I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly
I love you, the less I be loved.
Romans 15:3 - For
even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches
of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Yes, even see I Peter
4:14 - If ye be reproached for the name
of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon
you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
(I can use this verse in it's context as 'typical' of how people will treat
Christians
in the Tribulation, they are doing today as well. But yes, that verse
is not TO us, but is certainly there for us!)
WE HAVE OUR KJB FOR OUR SOURCE
OF CONFIDENCE
Paul's preaching and teachings
Acts 28:31 - Preaching
the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus
Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Titus 2:15 - These
things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise
thee.
Living God
I Timothy 4:10 -
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the
living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
The Risen Christ changes lives through Paul's teaching
and preaching!
Acts 26:18, 20b
- To open their eyes, and to turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified
by faith that is in me... that they should repent and turn to God, and
do works meet for repentance.
In whom
Ephesians 3:12 -
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
In his people
'His' people are those who are trying to follow him,
etc.
To those who won't, he offers:
grace
Deliver them to Satan / world, etc.
I Corinthians 5:5 - To
deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the
spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
I Timothy 1:20 -
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that
they may learn not to blaspheme.
He had confidence in them
II Corinthians 2:3 -
And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow
from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that
my joy is the joy of you all.
II Corinthians 7:16 - I
rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
II Corinthians 8:22 -
And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved
diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence
which I have in you.
Galatians 5:10 -
I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise
minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he
be.
Philemon 1:21 - Having
confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also
do more than I say.
Continue with the people for furtherance and joy.
Philippians 1:25 -
And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with
you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
Philippians 3:3,4 -
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice
in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Though I might also
have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof
he might trust in the flesh, I more:
Lord / KJB "touches you!"
II Thessalonians 3:4 -
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will
do the things which we command you.
I Thessalonians 2:13 -
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received
the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of
men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh
also in you that believe.
I Thessalonians 1:8,9 -
For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and
Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad;
so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us
what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from
idols to serve the living and true God;
Philippians 1:6 -
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work
in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Your personal testimony of confidence while changing
your life because of following Paul will encourage others to do the same!
Philippians 1:14:
And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are
much more bold to speak the word without fear.
II Corinthians 1:3-5 -
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort
wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ
abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
