The Way of Salvation
More Perfectly
|
And he began to speak boldly in the
synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard,
they took him unto them, and expounded
unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Acts 18:26
So much confusion - and different ways, if there is even any specific
way being taught any more!
Most important thing to know, of course!
Let's examine the subject to see if you may have the false one and
secure the real one!
Then we can get on with learning how to walk to please God!

Without the one and only true
salvation, you are still:
-
Blind - II
Corinthians 4:4 - In whom the god
of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the
light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should
shine unto them.
-
II Corinthians 4:3 -
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
-
Have no understanding -
II
Corinthians 2:14 - But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
You may even be able to see the design of rightly dividing, but get nothing
spiritual or 'right' from it. It may make sense to you but give you
no sense!
-
Serving the flesh -
Romans 6:19 - ... because of the
infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to
uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity.... Romans
6:20 - For when ye were the servants of
sin, ye were free from righteousness.
-
Corrupt according to the deceitful lusts
- Ephesians 4:22 -
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is
corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
-
Walking according to the course of this world
-
Ephesians
2:2,3 - ... ye walked according
to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the
air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: ... our
conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires
of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath,
even as others.
-
Aliens and strangers -
Ephesians
2:12- ... ye were without Christ, being
aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants
of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
-
Dead in your sins - Ephesians
2:1, 5; Colossians 2:13
-
In the devils army getting ready for battle - Revelation
16:14
Adam made us lost!
Not because you do bad works amongst your good works - we are lost because
of Adam!
-
I Corinthians 15:22 - For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
-
Genesis 5:3 -
made
in Adam's fallen image, now.
And Adam
lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness,
after his image...
-
Romans 5:12,13 -
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until
the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Don't take it personal - it is just a fact, unless, of course, you have
been taught to laugh at & ignore the Creation! Then you must
believe in your own fable - II Timothy 4:3,4 -
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after
their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching
ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
Then fits in Romans 3:9-12; 23; 6:23,
etc.
Why Should We Be So Concerned?
Family / Friends / People in your path!
(I mean, lots of folks are still going to a church of
some kind, some even read some kind of bible... )
(Some even attempt to dress some kind of good,
don't swear all that much, etc.)
(kids are obedient - at least while they are young, anyway)
(could anything be so wrong as one's salvation?)
(they say they know in their heart...)
-
The Gospels have so dominated modern
Christianity and yet the increase in ungodliness within Christianity has
become very obvious when one considers Rightly Dividing!
-
II Corinthians 11:-14 - Paul was so
concerned about folks being deceived, so should we!
-
Luke 8:12 - the devil can take the
word out of the heart LEST THEY BE SAVED! and we all know what has happened
to the word of God, the precious seed, etc.
-
Galatians 1:6-9 - a warning to be heeded
seriously!
-
Galatians 3:1 - the fear of being bewitched
is real!
-
(even if the parents are saved, if they get off the trail
of the true gospel, their children can be eternally deceived!)
-
Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12 - do folks
even have the right sword to do the operation?
-
I Corinthians 13:10; Ephesians 1:12,13; II Timothy
2:15 in an NIV prove the point of corruption and false sword,
etc.
-
Colossians 2:11-12 - an imitation produces
an imitation - without the surgery, one still feeds and follows the flesh,
as all modern worship, etc. does.
-
II Thessalonians 2:9-12 - growing apostasy
& deception shows us heading towards the Tribulation faster than ever!
-
Romans 1:21-28 (+32) - more and more
given
over? They sure do fit the verses more and more today!
-
Titus 1:16 - fake professions from
folks that are abominable, disobedient - unto every good work reprobate!
-
Amos 8:11-13 - famine gets deeper and
deeper - HEARING the words of the Lord - and can not find the word of the
Lord - IT!
-
Acts 13:49 - the wrong words are being
published throughout the regions in tracts, preachings, writings, etc.
everywhere - including America.
-
I Timothy 6:5 - most folks today suppose
that gain IS godliness!
-
Romans 1 - Satanism is extremely popular
- outward!

False Professions of Salvation
are Everywhere
-
Produce a wormy sickly fleshy fruit!
-
Produces plastic fruit!
-
Apostasy is rampant!
-
Tribulation description becoming more and more visible!
-
Reprobate increase - even in new churches...
-
"I was born a Christian!"
-
"I was raised a Christian!"
-
"I am from a Christian family!"
-
"My daddy made me be one!"
-
"My dad was a missionary / pastor!"
-
"I was baptized to be a Christian - as a baby / as an adult / again
for this church, etc.!"
-
"I was baptized because I was a Christian!"
-
"I was confirmed to receive the Spirit of God!"
-
"My friend talked me into being saved!"
-
"My parents have told me they made me a Christian!"
-
"I am doing well following Jesus' teachings, so I must be saved or whatever
you call it!"
-
"I go to a great church!"
-
"I love the music we do that worships God!"
In the scriptures, concerning one's own personal salvation, there are NO:
-
emotional tear jerking whooping and hollering invitations at the end
of any of Paul's sermons, etc.
-
"repeat after me" prayers
-
"asking Jesus into your heart"
-
"Inviting Jesus into your life"
-
"Giving your life to Jesus"
-
"Commitments to be made to Jesus"
-
"Receiving Christ with your own demand"
-
"Confession of your sins for forgiveness"
-
"Asking for forgiveness"
-
"Saved as a little child" (were you even lost then?)
-
"Joining a church - paying your tithes - obeying your pastor's control
in your life / family"
-
"Speaking in tongues, healings, being healed by someone's prayers, seeing
any visions / dreams, etc."
-
"In my heart, I just know - He told me so"
-
"Believing in God"
-
"My life is better - see, I told you I was a Christian!"
-
"God loves me because I know He chose me!"
Today, us...
Do we need signs to help us see to believe?
NO!
Do we need signs to help us secure our belief?
NO!
Faith is believing without seeing!
So ... WHAT WAY ARE WE TO BELIEVE?
Gospels?
Believe that he was THE / THAT Christ!
That was THEN! to the Jews! NOT TO US TODAY!
-
John 4:42 - And
said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we
have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the
Saviour of the world.
-
John 6:69 - And
we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living
God.
-
John 7:41 - Others
said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
-
John 11:25-27 -
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth
in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth
and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith
unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God,
which should come into the world.
-
John 20:31 - But
these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
(there are other similar verses all within all four Gospels)
Hebrews to Jude?
Faith AND works!
-
Hebrews 3:6,12-14; 5:9; 6:4-6; 12:14,15
-
James 2:20,24,26
-
I Peter - all flavour throughout
-
II Peter 2:20-22
-
Jude 21,24
A continuation of John's teachings, but now applied
to tribulation, based on the placement within the KJB - toward the end
- AFTER Paul's Ministry!!
I John 2:22 - Who
is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist,
that denieth the Father and the Son.
I John 5:1 - born of God - Whosoever
believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth
him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
I John 3:6-9 to be born of God
(John 3:7 - Marvel
not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.) Spirit
of God upon the flesh so you don't sin! Acts
2:17,18 - And it shall come to pass in
the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall
see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and
on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they
shall prophesy:
I John 2:27-29 - anointed to do
right
Revelation?
14:6-12
None of the above it TO us today!
Here is Simple Salvation Today
I Corinthians 15:1-11 - the
outline of facts of what to believe - see Paul's epistles for the details
of the risen Christ; see the gospels for the earthly Christ and what He
did concerning the law. Romans 10:4
- For Christ is the end of the law for
righteousness to every one that believeth.
Ephesians 1:12,13 - the
process described
Colossians 2:11,12 - the
surgical procedure
Romans 10:9-13 -That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever
believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference
between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto
all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
Romans 10:14,15 - How
then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall
they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear
without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as
it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel
of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Ephesians 6:15 - And
your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Preach Gospel of Peace - Paul's risen Christ and walk - peace from Spirit
of God doing Paul's ways, etc.
It isn't what you say or how you say it or where
you say it or a card you fill out, etc..
It is WHO you believe in and on and trust what
he said to you!
Hear the word of truth - the gospel of salvation -
vs
13
Believe in Christ after you hear - vs
13
Trust in Christ - vs 13
Sealed - vs 14
And then learning "the walk"
- the "risen life" truly can begin!
And we see very little of that today!
Very little!
Riches of the full assurance
of understanding! What a great thing, eh!
Colossians 2:1-8
For I would that ye knew what great conflict
I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen
my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit
together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding,
to
the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of
Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
(The KJB today)
And this I say, lest any man should beguile
you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I
with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness
of your faith in Christ.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus
the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished
in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after
the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
