Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2006 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2006
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15
The Way of Salvation
More Perfectly
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard,
they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Acts 18:26

So much confusion - and different ways, if there is even any specific way being taught any more!
Most important thing to know, of course!
Let's examine the subject to see if you may have the false one and secure the real one!
Then we can get on with learning how to walk to please God!

Without the one and only true salvation, you are still:

Adam made us lost!

Not because you do bad works amongst your good works - we are lost because of Adam!

Don't take it personal - it is just a fact, unless, of course, you have been taught to laugh at & ignore the Creation!  Then you must believe in your own fable - II Timothy 4:3,4 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Then fits in Romans 3:9-12; 23; 6:23, etc.

Why Should We Be So Concerned?
Family / Friends / People in your path!
(I mean, lots of folks are still going to a church of some kind, some even read some kind of bible... )
(Some even attempt to dress some  kind of good, don't swear all that much, etc.)
(kids are obedient - at least while they are young, anyway)
(could anything be so wrong as one's salvation?)
(they say they know in their heart...)

False Professions of Salvation are Everywhere
In the scriptures, concerning one's own personal salvation, there are NO:

Today, us...
Do we need signs to help us see to believe?
NO!
Do we need signs to help us secure our belief?
NO!
Faith is believing without seeing!

So ... WHAT WAY ARE WE TO BELIEVE?

Gospels?
Believe that he was THE / THAT Christ!
That was THEN!  to the Jews!  NOT TO US TODAY!

(there are other similar verses all within all four Gospels)

Hebrews to Jude?
Faith AND works!

A continuation of John's teachings, but now applied to tribulation, based on the placement within the KJB - toward the end - AFTER Paul's Ministry!!
I John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
I John 5:1 - born of God - Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
I John 3:6-9 to be born of God (John 3:7 - Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.) Spirit of God upon the flesh so you don't sin!  Acts 2:17,18 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
I John 2:27-29 - anointed to do right

Revelation?
14:6-12

None of the above it TO us today!

Here is Simple Salvation Today

I Corinthians 15:1-11 - the outline of facts of what to believe - see Paul's epistles for the details of the risen Christ; see the gospels for the earthly Christ and what He did concerning the law. Romans 10:4 - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Ephesians 1:12,13 - the process described
Colossians 2:11,12 - the surgical procedure

Romans 10:9-13 -That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:14,15 - How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Ephesians 6:15 - And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Preach Gospel of Peace - Paul's risen Christ and walk - peace from Spirit of God doing Paul's ways, etc.

It isn't what you say or how you say it or where you say it or a card you fill out, etc..

It is WHO you believe in and on and trust what he said to you!

Hear the word of truth - the gospel of salvation - vs 13
Believe in Christ after you hear - vs 13
Trust in Christ - vs 13
Sealed - vs 14

And then learning "the walk" - the "risen life" truly can begin!
And we see very little of that today!
Very little!

Riches of the full assurance of understanding!  What a great thing, eh!
Colossians 2:1-8
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (The KJB today)

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
