Chapter 14

• 1: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
• Meaning that he is the Christ, Son of God, the Saviour of the world, etc
• John 13:19 - Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
• John 11:42 - And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
• John 8:24 - I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
  
• John 4:42 - And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
• John 1:34 - And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
  

• 2: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
• 3: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
• The simple explanation here is that this is not TO us as Christians.  God's chosen people will get land - and so it makes sense that they would have 'buildings', etc.  But us?  We will be glorified like Him - He didn't need a building then and He/We won't need them in eternity.
• Luke 9:58 - And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
• Philippians 3:21 - Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

• 4: And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
• 5: Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
• "whither" -  To which specified place or position
• John 14:28 - Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
• Right Hand of God

• 6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
• The way through Paul today is the way of the RISEN Christ!
• I Corinthians 4:17 - For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
• Philippians 4:9 - Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

• 10: Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
• 11: Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
• A few more deity verses - Even though the issue from those days is still an issue today, it is not the issue for salvation today as it was in those days.
• John 13:3 - Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
• John 10:20 - I and my Father are one.
• John 5:18 - Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
  

• 12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
• Yes, Jesus does say to them to follow him.
• P.S. - Believers refer to Gospel days, Christians are first called Christians in Acts 11:26 - ... And the disciple were called Christians first in Antioch.
  
• Matthew 16:24 - Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
• Matthew 10:38 - And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
• Matthew 12:15 - But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
• John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

• Modern teachings say to imitate God, Jesus, Paul, etc.
• 1 Corinthians 4:16 - So I urge you to imitate me.
  
• 1 Corinthians 11:1 - And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
  
• Ephesians 5:1 - Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
  
• The Devil himself has his goal to be like the most High - that is imitation, not following.
• Isaiah 14:13,14 - For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
• However, to us today, Paul says for us to follow him - as he follows Christ - of course, now he is the RISEN CHRIST (not just 'Jesus' and his gospel teachings and sayings, etc.)!
• I Corinthians 11:1 - Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
• And if anything else preached, etc. that man is accursed!

• 13: And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
• 14: If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
• So, just us saying "In Jesus name" makes the magic work today?
• Has anyone noticed that just saying, "In Jesus name," "In the naaaame of Jesus," "In His Holy Name," etc. doesn't work?
  
• II Timothy 3:9 - But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
• How about the Risen Christ through Paul telling us to do all things in his name?  ALL THINGS!
• Colossians 3:17 - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
• Why not  say "In Jesus Name" for everything we do?
  

• 15: If ye love me, keep my commandments.

• John 7:38,39 - He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
• Now will be given!
• 16: And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
• 17: Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

• All in preparation for the Great Commission, as we call it.

• 22: Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

• 23: Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
• 24: He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
• 25: These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
• yet being present with them!!!
  

• 26: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
• Today we have the King James Bible for the Holy Ghost to work through - and with Paul's writings along with the whole counsel of God.
• I Corinthians 13:8-10 - verse 8 then, verse 10, today!
• I Thessalonians 2:13 - For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
• Romans 15:4 - For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
  

• 27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
• Jesus taught TO the Jews:
• Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
• Luke 1:79 - To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
• Paul's peace is the Risen Christ's peace:
  
• Romans 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
• Romans 8:6 - For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
• Romans 14:17 - For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
• Romans 14:19 - Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
• Ephesians 2:14 - For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
• Ephesians 2:15 - Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
• Philippians 4:6,7 - Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
• Colossians  3:15 - And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
• II Timothy 2:22 - Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

• 28: Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

• 29: And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
• Their opportunity to believe was to be in the Great Commission days - Acts 1-8
• Today, we have the KJB so that we might believe and then learn to walk to please the Risen Saviour, etc.
• I Thessalonians 4:1,2 - Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 

• 30: Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
• Paul's fear:
• II Corinthians 11:3,4 - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
  

• 31: But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
• The Risen Christ has a good testimony!
• II Timothy 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
• It is too bad that folks in the gospel days didn't believe He was the Son of God, the Saviour of the world; and equally important, it is too bad that people today don't believe the KJB to be the word of God!
• There is another Jesus that Paul warned about!
• Through the false teachings that are running rampant throughout Christianity today, they are hearing from another Jesus - soon to be officially known as the infamous, "antichrist."
• Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
• Mark 13:22 - For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
• I John 2:18 - Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
• I John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
• I John 4:3 - And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
• II John 1:7 - For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
• Daniel 11:36-39 - And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
• One more interesting verse for the coming times... concerning 'gold' and 'silver' and our economy's bleak future today.
• Ezekiel 7:19 - They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
