The Way of God More Perfectly
The 'Risen Gospel from the Crucified Christ!'

And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.  This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.  And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.   Acts 18:24-26

Now, turn to Acts 17:1-3
1: Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,   Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

Paul preaches 'his gospel' as the 'risen gospel' in 'the Greater Commission!'

My Gospel
Romans 2:16  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

My Gospel according to the mystery
Romans 16:25  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began...
Ephesians 3:1-6  For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,  If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:  How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,  Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;  That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

My Gospel
II Timothy 2:8  Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Same Jesus Christ, different doctrinal application
II Timothy 2:8  Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:  We must remember, it is still the Jesus Christ of the seed of David that we preach today - this is not 'another Jesus.'  However, if we preach the gospels as doctrine to us, we are preaching another gospel - and in all technical application, 'another Jesus.'  Folks today, through the Great Commission, are preaching a perverted gospel of Christ.

Still Preach the Gospels, OT, etc.
To eliminate any mixed up reaction, though, remember, we can still learn from the Gospels the greatness of Jesus now, (in John), the great history of Jesus and the great detailed future of Jesus. We don't negate or ignore the Gospels - except for doctrinal matters for Christians today.   We don't 'throw-out' the gospels nor do we 'throw-out' the OT, early Acts, James, Hebrews, etc.  We just need to take heed from Paul!

Paul Has Same Goals as Christ
Throughout all of the NT, we see that Paul's goals are no different those of Jesus Christ, only in application from a different Kingdom.  Kingdom of heaven vs kingdom of God.
John 6:39,40  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.  People must 'see' Jesus today spiritually (Kingdom of God), not physically!

Raise HIM up - Christ and Paul want to see folks (Gentiles) saved!
Raise IT up - Christ and Paul want to see folks (Gentiles) get their inheritance!

Paul preached that Jesus would deliver Gentiles from this present world by washing away our SINS! -
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world,
according to the will of God and our Father:
Galatians 1:4
...at Calvary!

Paul preached that Jesus would deliver us from every evil WORK!
And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work,
and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom:
to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
II Timothy 4:18
...at the Judgment Seat!

Paul is very concerned about salvation AND then not being deceived in our walk!
II Corinthians 11:1-4

Works of the Devil!
I John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Works from the unsaved, bad or good, are not good enough!  Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8,9, etc. Unsaved people die in their sins and trespasses!  Ephesians 2:1; Colossians 2:13!   Even the good works are called filthy rags... Isaiah 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Works of Jesus Christ!
Now, for a Christian, 'bad works' are called faults, bad works, weak in the faith, wrong, etc. but they are never imputed as sins.  They will, however, still burn, and will burn as wood, hay and stubble in the Judgment Seat!

For a Christian, good works are only good if they are the works of Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures (Galatians 2:20) and in His timing, etc. are gold, silver and precious stones.

The Gospel's pre-Crucified Christ
vs
Paul's Crucified Christ

Let's look at a few verses and see if we can see the difference between the "pre-crucified Christ & the crucified Christ!'

I Corinthians 1:23  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; (doctrinally, not the Christ of the Gospels - Beatitudes, etc. etc. etc - and to this day, it causes folks to stumble and brings comments of foolishness, even from other 'modern' Christians)

I Corinthians 2:1,2  And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. This is Paul's concern!  (not to preach the Gospel pre-crucified Christ)

Romans 8:34 - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.  He is not on the earth, as was the Gospel pre-crucified Christ!

Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: (not living as with the Gospel Christ) nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.  Preaching the gospel Christ frustrates the grace of God!  GRACE!  The gospel Christ would be of righteousness coming by the law!  The gospel Christ would be dead in vain!

Romans 6:3-6 - Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  The gospel is gone... it is not TO us Gentiles, nor is to the Jews, either (See Romans 11).

Galatians 3:1 - O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?  Foolish Christians today - can't you see what Paul is saying?  Can't you see that ALPHA is wrong - pentecostals are wrong, more and more KJB folks are wrong if they go the way of the Great Commission doctrines?

Colossians 2:12 - Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. The Greater Commission Christ is the one raised from the dead!

Colossians 3:1 - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, (not the earthly gospels) where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

If this King James Bible is the words of Christ, and if Christ has risen, then these words of the KJB - Paul's Gospel - are of the risen gospel.  We can not and should not look back at the 'early church' for doctrine today - we must look at the church and the Bible where it is suppose to be at today, that is through Paul, not Peter, not James, not even the Gospel teachings of Jesus.

The Way of God More Perfectly

A great example for us to apply:
Acts 18:24-26 - And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

Great Commission Gospel Doctrinal Preaching In Vain?

I Corinthians 15:14 - And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.  If anyone preaches the doctrine from the Great Commission, or looks to the Great Commission, or to the Gospels for their Christianity today, it is being done in vain - and their faith is in vain, as well!  (Remember II Timothy 2:16 - if not rightly dividing, then they are profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Tie that in with Galatians 2:21, and whew - that is rough!

"This Christ" today is the Crucified Christ:
became sin for us
became our curse
died on the cross, yet rose from the dead
washed my sins away with his blood
went to Hell for me and left it all there
rose to God to pay the sacrifice one and for all
sitteth on the right hand of God
still has no sin, yet is my mediator
does not impute my sin today
overcame the world
will be judge of the lost
will be judge of our works
seeks fellowship with me today!
soon to be finisher of faith
gave me His words TO me
walks the walk for me...
does it all through the Holy Spirit and the King James Bible
is the one Paul met face to face
is the one Paul teaches about
is the one Paul preaches TO us!

is Christ Crucified - now risen - now in me - soon to be with me and me with Him -
THEN he will be the Gospel Christ again, only this time, He will reign on the earth!
