I started thinking about what it is that I liked...  (not just things, of course)
... but as a Christian as compared to a modern Christian or even a lost person.  (could be one and the same...).

The list came out to be long one, actually!

Romans 6:19-22 - I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

So as we live in the world, etc. we do have the Liberty in Christ, right?
Yes, we do... but...

• 1) not to cause someone to stumble
• Romans 14:21 - It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
• 2) must edify
• I Corinthians 10:23 - All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
• 3) not for occasion for the flesh
• Galatians 5:13 - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
• 4) must be expedient - profitable, useful, proper
• I Corinthians 6:12 - All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
• 5) not bring you under its power
• I Corinthians 6:12 - All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

• Paul's mission
• Acts 26:18 - To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
• Jesus Christ will bring it all to light when he comes, but until he does, then the KJB rightly divided through Paul's Epistles is the light, etc.
• I Corinthians 4:5 - Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
• Paul speaks words to us, it is the KJB today!
• I Corinthians 10:12 - But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
• Acts 26:25 - But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

As children of light - and of the day, we are commanded to be watch & live soberly as Christians!

• I Thessalonians 5:5-10 - Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
• Titus 2:12 - Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

• 1.  Temperate in the use of spiritous liquors; habitually temperate; as a sober man.  Live a sober, righteous and godly life.
• 2.  Not intoxicated or overpowered by spiritous liquors; not drunken.
• 3.  Not mad or insane; not wild, visionary or heated with passion; having the regular exercise of cool dispassionate reason.
• 4.  Regular; calm; not under the influence of passion; as sober judgment; a man in his sober senses.
• 5.  Serious; solemn; grave;

• 1.  Without intemperance.
• 2.  Without enthusiasm.
• 3.  Without intemperate passion; coolly; calmly; moderately.
• 4.  Gravely; seriously.

• Having a disposition or tempter habitually sober, calm and temperate.

• Calmness; freedom from inordinate passions; habitual sobriety.

• 1.  Freedom from intoxication; temperance.
• 2.  Gravity; seriousness.
• 3.  Freedom from heat and passion; calmness; coolness.

I Peter 1:13 - be sober, hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ

I Peter 5:8 - your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about...

• How we behave - yes, even as adults, we can use the word 'behave' on ourselves!
• I Timothy 3:15 - But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
• Studying to be quiet - men & women
• I Thessalonians 4:11 - And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
• Learning in silence
• women
• Shamefacedness in modesty
• in appearance, action and sound, behaviour, etc.
• Our own behaviour outside the home
• events, activities, places of invitation, group gatherings, etc.
• Our own behaviour inside our own homes
• indoor and outdoor activities as adults.  Claiming "Family" within the confines of the home and yard is not an excuse to not act & behave as a Christian!
• In fact, in the home is the most important place to be a proper testimony of an example of a Christian adult to our children and grandchildren as they grow up (Ephesians 4:14; I Corinthians 13:11) with Paul's teachings
• Be trained to be self disciplined.  (as are mom and dad?)
• Do they really need energy releases, time-outs as often as some think - or at all, even?
• More and more of Modern Christianity is 'behaving' like a child!  (they skip Paul and so they do not grow up!)
• We can be a lot like our kids...
• ...when they get around other kids, especially the lost ones (or of families, etc.) and get that freedom the world has, our kids eventually can't handle themselves and get wild - even if just amongst our own kids, etc.
• Do us adults start behaving like the world when we are around worldliness, people of the world, etc. etc.

Galatians 5:19-21

• Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

• And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

• 'lost Gentile behaviour is noted from the past...  dogs!  It is still in our old nature, eh!
