Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2005 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2005
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15

What Testimony Do You Profess?
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
I Timothy 6:12

We say we profess a salvation... but it seems that so does everybody else these days.  Is it a true salvation?  Is a salvation what we are to profess?

Let's look at the Scriptures and see some detail of a rightly divided testimony.

Outline to audio sermon!

Profess a good profession!
I Timothy 6:12

Certainly not Hebrews 3:3; 4:14 or 10:23 - that shows that we can lose that testimony we can lose that faith if we turn to Hebrews for salvation testimonies, etc.

So, let's turn to:
Acts 14:3
Well, we can't profess that testimony either - we would have to do signs and wonders in order to claim this one.

How about:
Revelation 1:2 - Who  bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus CHrist, and of all things that he saw.
Well, that is from John and all that John was going to see is certainly not to us today - it is Tribullational stuff.
Revelation 12:17 - And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Yes, that is a good testimony, but that is not to us for today.

Naturally, let's look to Paul and what he has to say TO us:

Does the true testimony of Christ show others in our life because it is CONFIRMED in us?  (I don't mean from confirmation class, either)
I Corinthians 1:6

Paul does mention the testimony of God.
See John 6:39,40 as Jesus Christ did what His Father said to do - and passed it onto Paul - Colossians 1:12,13.  Inheritance and salvation.  Walk for rewards and faith for salvation.

Testimony of our conscience - another sermon some day.
II Corinthians 1:12

Our profession of the correct testimony will bring others to their salvation and changes in their lives.
II Thessalonians 1:10

Not a testimony to be ashamed of!
II Timothy 1:8

We are to profess the rightly divided testimony of Christ.
We don't profess the Old Testament Christ only!
We don't profess the Gospels Christ only!
We don't profess the Hebrews/James, etc. Christ only!
We don't profess the Revelation Christ only!

We are to profess the Christ that Paul preaches!
And that can be done only in and through a King James Bible - rightly divided!

Or do you profess...
a church? - is all people know about you is your church and what goes on there?
your music?  - is your music all that people see in you / or in your church, etc.?
being a Christian? - everybody says they are a christian these days.  Define Christian!
your walk?  -  does pride show in your honorable and devout walk?
your happiness? - is that all they see - do others know why?  Why do you have happiness, anyway?  because you have money?  health?  comfortable?
homeschooler with good kids?
homeschooler with bad kids?
being a whiner and complainer?  Doesn't that Book help you, etc.?
rebellion?
pride?
"love?"
criticism of others? (especially just to lift yourself to your family, etc.)
success?
another Christ?
Baptist denomination?
etc. etc. etc.

The Testimony of Christ today is the King James Bible...
- rightly divided, of course -
(we met some King James folks ('users' mostly) at the fair, and the testimony they professed was still a false one)

And then your life will be change - it will be testimony of Grace AND Truth!
