The entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO us!
We learn from the "For" and study Paul's writings to apply the 'TO!"

A Sincere Christian's Faith
Promises from the Risen Christ to Paul to us through the Spirit of God and the King James Bible!
Part IV

Every promise in the Book is NOT mine, mine, mine,
but the promises from Paul's Epistles ARE all ours, ours, ours!

Philippians

Chapter One

6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

9-11 -  And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

12,13 - But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

27,28 - Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

29 -  For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Chapter Two

12:13 - Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

14,15 - Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Chapter Three

8-10 - Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

15 -  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

21 - Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Chapter Four

6,7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

9 - Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Does this also include?
vs 11,12 - : Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
II Corinthians 11:26-30 -  In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.
Romans 8:35 - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Through all that, are we ever content?
Philippians 4:11,12 - : Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I Timothy 6:8 - And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

A Happy Failure

Success is getting what you want.
Happiness is wanting what you get.
Paul was a happy failure.

He wanted to go home (Philippians 1:23), but he couldn't have what he wanted;
yet he wanted what he got, (24,25) so he was a happy failure.

19 -  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

This makes a good sermon ... next week!
