Christmas III
A
Christian's Battle Over Celebrating Christmas
As
part of the Lord's unfinished work, you should notice a personal battle
that you are growing each year when it comes to celebrating Christmas.
Why is that? What is the big issue in our lives about these personal
battles? Simple answer: It is the fact that Christians today are
not crucifying the flesh - they are only trying to control it with personal
compromise, etc. We are Christ's workmanship; we should allow Him
to do His work in us. |

What's
In the Gospels For Us?
# 34
Gospel
of John 17:5-8
These
verses have great application FOR us today. The very same way Jesus
thought towards the men God had given him is the way He thinks of us today.
We look at the voice of God today - we look at 'keeping' his word and what
that means - we also look at the importance of deity again - and again
and we look at how all this is applicable to a King James Bible today. |

Tradition
What
about the 'tradition' of Christmas? How about we back off from Christmas
just a bit and consider what a rightly divided Bible says about 'tradition'
in the past, present and future. |

Secure
Salvation
It seems more and more
people are concerned about their salvation these days. Not that they
have it in the first place, but can they lose it? Do they have to
keep asking for forgiveness? Even though they believe they can't
have it taken away, is it something they can just walk away from?
Most folks still do not understand the 'design' & 'details' of salvation,
so naturally they would always wonder about it. It is somewhat like
an unknown God to them; do they truly only hope they have salvation, thus
they are trusting an 'unknown salvation?' |

Christmas IV
Hark!
How All the Welkin Rings
Let's look at the original
Hark!
The Herald Angels Sing" and do a Bible study of each verse to see if
this is something that we should be singing. We can put truths into
our own words, as did Wesley here, but we also must make sure what
we are singing is still truthful. For those of you that are new to
'meter' and syllable writing of the old hymns, you may find this interesting.
You can see how they put the emphasis on words, not music and how we put
the emphasis on music and not words today. Also, this is the only
time in history, past, present or future that you will hear me sing 'solo'
as we do some singing for example in this sermon. My apologies.
:-) Following along with the notes is important to understand what
we are doing in the sermon, too. PS - we are having sound and video
issues again, so the recording is from my pocket digital - thus the quality
of sound not what it should be. |

What's
In the Gospels For Us?
# 35
Gospel
of John 17:9
Jesus
didn't pray for the world? Does that mean that God doesn't love everyone
like all the modern Christians think? Is God's judgment really God's
hatred towards the lost? Jesus prayed for his own, so how did Paul
pray for his own? Again, what does Paul tell us to do concerning
those that are against the teachings of the Risen Christ? (PS
- there may be some tiny skips in the sound/video - if you see/hear any,
first, my apologies, then please let me know. We are having computer
recording challenges - still trying to find a solution) |

Messiah
We take an in-depth look
into the famous oratorio written by George F Handel - Messiah.
We look at it musically, of course, but we also greatly emphasize the Scriptural
element. (PS - there may
be some tiny skips in the sound/video - if you see/hear any, first, my
apologies, then please let me know. We are having computer recording
challenges - still trying to find a solution) |

What's
In the Gospels For Us?
# 36
Gospel
of John 17:10-13
A
short evening but looking, once again, towards the gospels. How are
we kept? We are one with the Trinity? How do we have Jesus' joy in ourselves
- even when times are tough? Answer: Through Paul, of course - but
what does that mean? (PS - there may be some
tiny skips in the sound/video - if you see/hear any, first, my apologies,
then please let me know. We are having computer recording challenges
- still trying to find a solution) |

The
Boyhood of Jesus
Not
the baby nor the adult, but what do the Scriptures tell us about Jesus
when he was a young boy? Was Jesus holy as a baby? Does his being
firstborn have any meaning? How was Jesus' birth a sign?
Is the Nativity Scene halo true? What can our children learn from
Jesus when he was a boy? Interesting stuff. |

What's
In the Gospels For Us?
# 37
Gospel
of John 17:14-26
We
finish chapter 17. We see if any of what Jesus told the disciples
is applicable to us today. We certainly see he was referring to the
Great Commission and all the hatred the disciples were going to encounter.
However, are we to be subjected to the same hatred as they; or is the King
James Bible what they really hate? Maybe both? Which is it? |

In
Whom Do We Trust?
Let us take a close look
at exactly whom and what do we put our trust when we tell folks we are
trusting Christ. This is a teaching sermon, but it sure does have
some intent of putting a solid assurance in life - make sure you are putting
your trust in all. |

The
Other Son of God / "Fun" vs. "Enjoyment"
- Two short sermons
-
I. Adam,
the son of God - what was/is his part in the story?
II. We examine
'fun' and 'enjoyment.' It seems that the trend that
is taking in our kids in is the 'fun' aspect of today's modern Christianity.
A mature Christian 'enjoys' things - with the application of the brain;
but the immature childish Christian has 'fun' and forgets about their testimony
and behavioural example. (notes coming soon - VERY soon) |

We did
'More of the Messiah' but I left the sound off accidentally, so there is
nothing for tonight. Sorry! We had a good time learning more
about Handel's Messiah and singing along with some of it - and of course
reading from the Scriptures that we would sing.

# 39
Gospel
of John 21:15-17
As
we take Dr. Gipps Agape / Phileo test, we are reminded just how baloney
the false 'need' for knowing Greek is. Along with taking Gipp's test
we look at a few other examples of baloneyness, as well. |

Issues
and Disputings in 2009
As more of Christianity
is attacked by 'atheists' and the government, etc. we will be seeing more
and more of today's Christianity finally rising to the battlefront.
Unfortunately, there is a serious problem that exists. Most of the
battles do not involve real truth. What does a 'real' Christian do?
Does he fight for a Christmas that he knows is still not true? Etc.
There are many battles being waged right now and more coming, that are
still not over the truth of the issue. Both sides are still wrong
- so what are we to do? |
