Pre-Pauline Review
Review of Acts 1-8

This is a list of things that we observed as we read through Acts chapters 1-8. These are things that we see were to the Jews, NOT to the Gentiles, so to claim them today is to claim a false gospel for today.  Many of these things listed below are part of the pentecostal doctrine today as well as the modern Purpose Driven, ALPHA, CCM, etc. doctrine.

We started with John 14 as that is where the Lord Himself says He will send the Comforter to them that keep his commandments.  This is where the 'Jesus Teachings' continue - with the Jews in early Acts.

In fact, note Luke 24:47. This is NOT the gospel that we are to preach today.  And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Then we looked at Matthew 28:16-20 and Mark 16:15-20 to read about the commission given to the apostles to take to all the world.  But remember, they didn't make it past chapter 8, then Christ had to go to Paul to be the apostle to the Gentiles - the Jews had blown their commission!

Here is the summary of topics that were mini-sermons these past few weeks in Sunday School:

Starting with Chapter Nine, we see Paul's ministry to the Gentiles begin
as the ministry to the Jews fades out in transition through the Book of Acts.
