The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and study Paul's writings to apply the 'TO!"

How To Please God Today or - the greatest motivating teaching from Paul!
|
I believe this to be one of, if not the most important 'teaching' from Paul!
This is taught only from Paul, only revealed in Dispensation of grace!
This 'teaching' should be a great motivator to all Christians - IF their pastors would ever teach it to them!
For those who want 'change' in their lives - here is where you start!
People are selling their:
- country
- families
- children
- church
- family
- children
- selves
For:
- self
- independence
- money
- success
- retirement desires
- happiness
- temporary comfort
- worldly and family 'peace'
- peace with themselves
We don't have to go to Mark 8:36 with how Jesus warned the Jews, we can hear the same thing, even in better detail - II Timothy 6:17-21
All of this is resulting in
- temptations
- snare of the devil
- foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition
- err from the faith
- pierce themselves through with many sorrows (or are setting themselves up for them soon)
We must trust the LIVING GOD, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy! I Timothy 6:9-10; 17-21
Christians (so-called) are being
spoiled with philosophies and vain deceit, after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ - and they are
being led by their leaders who have sold their souls, churches, etc.
for the same things! Colossians 2:8
- Job 21:14,15 - Therefore
they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of
thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
From the foundation of the world, God would have it that His creation / people should be holy and without blame!
- Ephesians 1:3-6 - Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us
with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as
he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we
should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to
himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
How do you try to please the living God?
- Build an ark?
- Not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together? Deuteronomy 22:11
- Take a one year honeymoon when first married - no war, no job and keep your wife happy? Deuteronomy 24:5
- Be sure not to glean your fields after harvest? Deuteronomy 24:21
- Obey all the ten commandments?
- Be a peacemaker - love everyone - make peace, not war?
- Be sure to be reviled, persecuted and them say all manner of evil against you?
- Pluck out your eye when you look at something you shouldn't have?
- Cut off your hand when you touch something or do something with it you should not have?
- Keep the commandments that Jesus taught in the Gospels?
- Go ye into the world, or pay someone a few dollars to do it for you, and preach the gospel to every creature.
- Preach what?
- He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved...
- Be sure to also tell them that there will be signs that follow them that believe...
- casting out devils
- speak with new tongues
- take up serpents
- drink poison
- lay hands on the sick to heal them
- Live believing 'gain' is godliness?
- Teach apostles doctrine?
- Live
in constant fear that God will destroy you, your home, your business,
your health, your family's health and future if you don't please God
enough?
- Seek favour with all the people in your town, etc.?
- Be baptized?
- Partake of the Lord's supper, but make sure you are worthy of doing so?
- Confess your sins daily? Hourly? After the moment?
- Believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
- Believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the saviour of the world?
- Pray in his name - in the name of, etc.l
- Preach the everlasting gospel?
- Be sure to not take anything or possess anything with the number 666 on it.
- Be sure not to take any credit cards, etc.
- Don't use electricity?
- Listen to any kinds of music, just make sure it is called Christian in some form or another?
- Imitate Jesus' life by following in his footsteps?
- Live his liberty freely?
- Stop sinning?
- etc. (make your own list?)
First of all, CAN you please God?
Romans 8:8,9
When you learn that you can now, WILL you?
- Ephesians 2:10 - you are his workmanship, ordained to do so!
- I Thessalonians 4:1,2 - have you been taught how to?
- Ephesians 4:20-22 - have you actually been taught by the 'risen' Christ?
- II Timothy 1:8 - to what extent is your shame? embarassment?
- Titus 1:16 - Do you profess, but deny him?
What the Risen Christ has done with the law!
...or a great fact of many from the goodness of God - Romans 2:4
Can we even keep the law?
- Romans 3:12 - ...there is none that doeth good, not not
one.
- Romans 3:19 - Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith
to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the
world may become guilty before God.
- Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God.
- Romans 7:14 - ...I am carnal, sold under
sin.
- Romans 7:15-16 - ...for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate,
that do I.
So if even Paul could not keep the law,
why was the law given? - Brings people to Christ
- Galatians 3:22-24 - ...the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto
Christ....
- Sin stilol dwells in us after we are saved!
- Romans 7:17-20 - Now
then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For
I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for
to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I
find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I
would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more
I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
- We also need to learn that there is now no law to keep! (see the next point)
After we are saved - there is no law to keep...
- He saw that he was dead to the law and that
the law was taken out of the way --
- Romans 7:4 - ...ye also are become dead to
the law by the body of Christ...
- Romans 10:4 - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
- Colossians 2:14 - Blotting out the handwriting of
ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the
way, nailing it to his cross.
- Galatians 3:25 - But after that faith is come, we
are no longer under a schoolmaster.
- Think about Galatians 3:19, Wherefore then serveth the law? -- why
would God ask such a question if he commanded them to keep the law?
No More Law!
- Romans 7:19-20 -For the good that I would I do not: but the evil
which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that
do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
- Sin still dwells in us!
- We see now that we are dead to the law because
the law was taken out of the way --
- Romans 7:4 - ...ye also are become dead to
the law by the body of Christ...
- After salvation we see that we are dead to sin --
- Romans 6:3 - ... so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into his death...
- Romans 6:7 - For he that is dead is freed from
sin.
- Romans 6:11 - ...reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto
sin...
- Galatians 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ...
- More --
- Colossian 2:13 - And you...hath he quickened together with him, having
forgiven you all trespasses
- Romans 4:7-8 - ...Blessed are they whose
iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom
the Lord will not impute sin.
An interesting question now - do we need an "advocate" today?
I John 2:1: My
little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if
any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous:- a. No - It is only mentioned in I John for the time of Tribulation.
- b. If that answer doesn't suffice for folks, then here is the explanation.
- We have no law for the need of an advocate.
- We do not need an attorney, for there can be no charge made against us.
- All
of our sins past, present and future have been brought up for judgment,
were found guilty ,and Christ was put to death for them!
- When Christ died, the law (the prosecuting attorney) was taken out of the way (Colossians 2:13-14) and put to death (Colossians 2:14; Romans 7:1-3), therefore there is no one to charge us, and even if there were, he would be charging a dead person. (Romans 6:6-8,11).
- We that are saved are dead, and being dead, are free from sin (Romans 6:22), and that's the end of it!
A Final thought on our personal motivation to change our lives based on what the Risen Christ has taught to us through Paul?
- Just how thankful are you about it?
- Romans 1:21 -
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their
foolish heart was darkened.
- Colossians 3:15 - And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
