Are we really 'sacrificing' when we 'quit' something that the world does?

Is it a 'sacrifice' to finally do right?
-
Is it better to obey to do wrong than to sacrifice to do right?
-
Would a parent ever ask a child/teen to do something wrong just to see
if they would obey dad?
-
In I Samuel 15:22, Saul did not obey
a correct command, not a wrong one. Using that verse to challenge
your own children is shameful to the parent, if you ask me. Well,
I guess you didn't ask me, but I want to say it anyway - it is so wrong
for a parent to test their children / young adults to see if they would
obey you - by asking them to do something wrong.
I am not trying to complicate something simple, tonight!
I am not talking about 'offerings,' as sacrifice.
I mean suffering loss to do right - that is true sacrifice.
I Corinthians 5:7-8
Christ sacrificed for us!
Romans 5:8
...while we were yet sinners...
(PS - do we love / sacrifice for out kids only when they
do right? Aren't you glad Christ didn't wait for you to 'do' right before
He saved you?)
Why Would We Not Be Willing to Sacrifice?

Romans 12:1,2 - I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
