Getting back to Timothy...

Do you want to 'know' about Paul's teachings? or DO Paul's teachings?

See Philippians 4:9. It doesn't say 'know,' it says, "DO!"

It is easier to 'do' church than to do Paul!

Pastors use the Bible to make them the final authority!

Parents tend to use the Bible to make them the final authority!

When they are wrong, the 'truth' gets a bad reputation from the children!

Nourished properly!

I Timothy 4:6
We have been nourished in words of faith and of good doctrine.

Faithful sayings

I Timothy 4:9
Titus 1:9
Titus 2:15
Titus 3:8

Living God

I Timothy 4:10
We are trusting in a LIVING God

It won't be easy to make these changes!

II Timothy 2:8,9
We labour!
We suffer reproach!
Too bad when it is from our own family!

It's the right thing to do!

I Timothy 2:3,4
No need to have to justify, argue detail, challenge motive and reasons, etc.
Just say to folks, "I do this because it is the right thing to do."
Just say to folks, "I won't do that - it is the wrong thing to do."
It may not be the heart at first, but eventually, it all transfers from the brain to the heart.
Don't wait until the 'heart' is there - just do right! The heart will come!
