Benefits from Following Paul Physically
For
bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all
things,
having
promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
This
is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

With
Paul, We Are Now Able to Give God His Glory
|
Give
unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty
of holiness.
Psalm 29:2
Give
unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come
into his courts.
Psalm 96:8
Introduction
/ Review
We must be
reminded again, that from rightly dividing the word of the truth to see
what is TO us directly, along with that which is FOR us for "ensample...."
We have
learned/grown spiritually...
or at least had the opportunity to have learned; to have grown...
-
Higher personal
standard in your walk as well as your family!
-
Say 'no' more
than you ever thought you would!
-
Talk less often
- think before you speak - and then speak softer - folks may have thought
you weren't feeling your normal self...
-
Lose some friends
and even family!
-
Become more aware
of 'issues' that are making up the new world government and one world religion
- all being prepped by the devil for the antichrist!
-
Become more aware
of 'thyself:'
-
discretion
-
modesty
-
heart
-
understanding
-
testimony &
profession of your faith
-
joy
-
peace
-
longsuffering
-
your parenting
-
your spousing
-
and more... etc.
Unless
you are still:
-
unsure
-
have been missing
the sermons and discussions in meetings & gatherings, etc.
-
lacking in your
personal joy and inner peace
-
feeling an anger
towards others in this church family because your pride can't deal with
us yet
-
having to put
on your church face (which by the way, we all know each other enough to
know when our church faces are only skin deep!!!)
You
are possibly more able to see the 'truth' today than you ever had before:
-
you see that folks
are truly lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
-
the latter times
making more and more sense now
-
you are more solid
on Tribulation, but not just because of a teaching - you are seeing it
develop daily!
-
you see the attack
on more than just the Book - you see the nets being laid for your kids
and grandkids!
-
you know Satan's
devices far more than you ever thought you would
You are learning
of the riches of understanding through Paul's Epistles!
You understanding
more and more of the treasures that can come from walking the walk.
-
a walk that you
were never interested in - and in many cases, rebelled against it - even
as a Christian.
-
a walk that you
tried to escape - and thought you had, when we see how rightly dividing
debunks the Great Commission and having to walk like Christ said to the
Jews.
You continue
to see the details of Paul's prayers for us come to be answered in your
life!
-
Ephesians 1:16-20;
Ephesians 3:14-19; Philippians 1:9-11; Colossians 1:9-11
You
also understand WHY we must do what we are doing NOW in our pattern of
growth - as a church family.
-
Preach, Teach
and Reach for the walk as Paul told Timothy & Titus (along
with the others, of course)!
Are you curious
about the next stage we will have to deal with as a church family?
-
II Thessalonians
3 - But not yet - we must get through
Timothy
and Titus
first!
Men's meetings
will help us through!
-
good attendance,
more input and discussion of personal situations, seeing the Scripture
ask to be trusted as our final authority
-
some men may even
go home with it and not take a step or two backward - at least not right
away?
-
some of this may
be an answer to the prayers of wife and kids - but if it is, beware - it
may not be what you think it should be!
-
I Timothy 1:3-6
- first night - men allowing false doctrine into the home - turned to vain
janglings and the fruit thereof!
-
I Timothy 1:16
- second night - looking at 'thyself' before anyone else
-
I Timothy 1:11
- God is trusting us with Paul's stuff - rightly dividing - we can not
drop the ball on this one.
-
I Timothy 1:18,19
-
This will be the biggest war in our life - for the family, for the kids,
for your wife and for yourself.
-
I Timothy 1:20
-
we may lose some family over this stuff coming up in Timothy. There
must be grace, but we can't hide behind it, either.
-
Galatians 4:1,2;
I Timothy 1:16 - third night - showing
the correct pattern of manner of life and not treating our children like
they are already lord of all.
-
Next meeting -
this Monday night, July 16, 2007 - I Timothy
2:1-8

Sermon Body
We
Are Now Able to Give God His Glory
We NOW can!
-
Saved - Romans
8:8,9
-
Assured of proper
salvation - Galatians 1:6,
II
Corinthians 11:4, etc.
-
Rightly Dividing
- needeth not to be ashamed - shew thyself approved unto God - not following
profane and vain babblings or any vain janglings -II
Timothy 2:15,16; I Timothy 1:6; 6:20,21
-
Following Paul
- Philippians 4:9
- to have the God of peace!
Two Ways to Give God His Glory
Inward
Outward
Inward:
no condemnation (Romans 8:1)
He gets the glory what we do secretly, etc.
It has been dealt with - the devil has nothing to say!
Not imputed!
Penalty paid for!
Washed in His blood!
Because of Spiritual Circumcision - the operation made by God without
hands, etc.
We are part of the body of Christ now - seated in heavenly places -
hid in God!
Made Free!
No law of sin and death!
No sin attached to our works!
made us accepted in the beloved (Ephesians
1:6)
We don't sin 'on record.'
-
but we do CHOOSE to follow the sin that is in us!
-
We no longer have to serve it!
-
That is so different than what the Gospel message
is today for modern Bible Christians who think they have to actually stop
sinning, because I John 3 says
so - and we must walk in the image of Jesus - to be conformed to the image
of his Son, Romans 8:29,
etc.
Now we are able to yield unto God now - make the
choice!
-
Romans 6:13 - Neither
yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members
as instruments of righteousness unto God.
-
Romans 6:19 - I
speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for
as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity
unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness
unto holiness.
Thus we have the other
way to give God glory...
OUTWARD!
As we yield... now we are seen!
How to perform?
Romans 7:18 - For I know that in me (that
is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Is it a "Biblical" standard that is seen by
others?
-
or an American cultural one? (it gets leavened one
leaven at a time...)
-
or a family one? (it gets leavened one leaven
at a time...)
If not a Biblical standard - based on Paul, then
God does not get His glory from our walk!
P.S.
War with the soul?
It is NOT the battle as described in I Peter
2:11 - we do not war with the soul!
-
The soul is out of the picture once we are saved!
-
We war with our mind! Romans 7:15-15-25
- especially verses 23-25
-
The time of the Great Tribulation, THEN the battle
will be over the soul!
-
Just like Hebrews
13:17 - pastors watching for your souls?
-
The souls are fine if you are saved - the preacher
needs to help you read that Book - then God can show you anything - even
some things the pastor doesn't know about you!!!
Give up our glory for Him to get His!
For Him to get His glory from our outside walk, we must give up our
glory - and do it His way - according to Paul - in Timothy!
Inward? Taken Care of!
Outward? Our choice! Our glory or His?
Outward Glory
-
Romans 13:12-14 - 12:
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the
works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us
walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering
and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
-
Galatians 5:16,17 - This
I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the
flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against
the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot
do the things that ye would.
-
Ephesians 2:1-10 -
1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein
in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in
times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made
us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to
come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward
us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto
good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
That was all outward - and it's all to be His glory, not our success!
-
Romans 11:36 - For
of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for
ever. Amen.
-
Romans 16:25-27 -
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and
the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery,
which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest,
and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of
the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
-
I Corinthians 10:31 - Whether
therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of
God.
-
Ephesians 3:21 - Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory
in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Today's church false glory!
-
The music if fleshy, the appearance is for fleshy comfort, the sermons
are self - fleshy, the surroundings are fleshy, etc.
-
They worshipping of an unknown god is actually just worship of the creature,
not the creator!
-
I Corinthians 1:29-31 - That
no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus,
who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification,
and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let
him glory in the Lord.
-
I Corinthians 5:6 - Your
glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole
lump?
To His Glory!
-
II Corinthians 4:15 - For
all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the
thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
-
Ephesians 1:12-14 - That
we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance
until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of
his glory.
Walk Worthy!
-
I Thessalonians 2:11-12 - As
ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as
a father doth his children, That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath
called you unto his kingdom and glory.
Now unto
the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and
glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I Timothy 1:17
