Continuing on from previous sermons on these treasures that can be had by following Paul's gospel, physically - with emphasis in I, II Timothy and eventually Titus!

11.  You will build up your courage!
You know the bad fruits that come with it all - endure hardness, etc.
Philippians 4:9 in this world today - the Christian world?

• Romans 1:16,17 -  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

• especially verse 5 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

• Romans 6:21-23 -  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

• II Corinthians 10:8 -  For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:  That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.

• I Corinthians 5:5 - destruction of the flesh!
• I Timothy 1:20 - learn not to blaspheme!
• I Corinthians 7:12-16 - marriage fall apart - move on!  see verse 28
• Philippians 1:20,21 -  According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
• Is what you do physically bringing shame to the truth - to Christ - to the Book - to your testimony - the church, etc.?
• how you train / raise / let roam your children - your influence on them, etc.
• They shame you - but that is usually just your own shame and embarrassment - do they shame the Lord?
• II Thessalonians 3:14 - And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
• It's ok to step away - to move away - to get away - to close down a bad friendship - or even a good friendship...
• Titus 2:7,8 - In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,  Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
• II Timothy 1:7-10 -  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
• Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
• But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:  Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
• II Timothy 1:12 - For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
• Don't base that 'knowing' on your feelings or your pride, etc.
• II Timothy 1:16,17 - The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:  But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
• his chain was Paul's manner of life - and all that went with it.  Not all fruits of righteousness are good, eh?
• II Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

• Outside of Timothy - but still from Paul:
• Philippians 1:6 - Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
• fail or not - keep trying!
• Philippians 1:14 - And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
• II Timothy 3:12 -  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
• If they can, so can you!
• Ephesians 3:12 - In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
• Philippians 1:25 - And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
• Keep the book open to Paul - and study it!
