• I Corinthians 11:23-26 - For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
• But do we need to do the Lord's Supper to do that?
• Ritual?
• Tradition?
• Ordinance?
• Requirement?
• for salvation?
• for confession of sins?
• for receiving Holy Spirit?
• for church membership?
• for body of Christ membership?
• closed - open?
• Requirements?  age?  knowledge?
• wine - grape juice
• unleavened bread - crackers - manufactured wafer?
• single loaf of bread - pieces?
• shot glasses - cups - glasses?
• denominational differences in design?
• how oft is oft?  weekly, monthly, yearly, every dinner?  supper?
• etc. - what a mess, eh!
• personal comment:  sometimes, I think we are so ignorant and lazy and selfish, we NEED religion and all the threats and guilt that comes with it to get us to do right - even if just occasionally!

• Has he not come spiritually - are we not in a spiritual kingdom at this time?  Yes! Romans 14:17
• So, he HAS come spiritually in that KJB - I Corinthians 13:10.
• We no longer are told to do the 'supper' - 'communion' - 'Lord's supper.'
• We have even more to know and remember and that is from the King James Bible today!

• Did Christ die like He did so we can live the life we are living right now - and still go to heaven?
• Did Christ die like He did so we can have the things we have - and still go to heaven?
• Did Christ die like He did so we can dress the way we dress - show the skin that we show - go to the places we go - talk the way we talk (with discretion or not) - act the way we do (soberly or not) - party the way we party (riotous or not) - so we can eat and drink and rise up to play the modern American way - - and yet - still go to heaven when we die?
• Did Christ die like He did so we can raise our children to be spoiled disobedient children who will probably turn away from His resurrection let alone learn anything about their own eternal life - by our example, of course!  After all, we don't really know how to train them, so why try - they only get in our way!!!

• Remember - according to Paul
• NOT just the Gospels, although they are still important!
• NOT just Isaiah 53, although that is still important!
• NOT just applying Psalm 109 as Christ's thoughts towards Satan and the wicked while he was being crucified, although that is still important!
• NOT just applying Psalm 22, showing His great distress while in the garden knowing what was coming, although that is still important!

• Abolished death - brought life and immortality to light through the gospel - and that gospel today must be Paul's!
• Read II Timothy 1:8-11 with emphasis on verse 10 - But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
• And that gospel is Paul's!  "My gospel..."
• Romans 2:16 - In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
• Romans 16:25 - Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
• II Timothy 2:8 - Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Reconciled to God

• 5:8-11
• especially verses 10,11 - For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

• 5:17-21
• especially verse 17 - For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
• especially verse 21 - That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

• 6:3-5 -Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

• Romans 6:9,10 - Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
• Romans 6:11 - Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

• 6:21-23 - What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

• Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

• Romans 8:6 - For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

• Romans 7:24 - O wretched man that I am!  who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

• I Corinthians 15:21,22 - For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
• Philippians 2:8 -  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
• Philippians 3:9-1110 - And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
• Colossians 1:22 - In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

• We must not be like John MacArthur - in spite of what he teaches, the blood still has it's purpose and is a true necessity!!
• Romans 5:9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
• Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
• Ephesians 2:13 - But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
• Colossians 1:14 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
• Colossians 1:20 - And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
• And if he hadn't died, we would not have the New Testament that we have!
• Hebrews 9:16,17 - For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
• The Gospels are still considered Old Testament until Christ's death!
