Another Sermon for the Starving Bible Believing Christians All Over the World Wide Web
2005 - Touchet Baptist Church, Touchet, Washington - Pastor Mike Paulson - 2005
Expounding the way of God more perfectly - Acts 18:26 - with the Scriptures Rightly Divided - II Timothy 2:15

Who is This Christ That Paul Follows?
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
I Corinthians 11:1

First, He followed them (did not imitate...)!
I Corinthians 10:4 - And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Then He asked them to "follow" Him (not imitate)!
Matthew 19:21 - Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Now we are to "follow" Christ through Paul (not imitate)!
I Corinthians 11:1 - Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Also see: Romans 11:13,14; 15:15,16; I Corinthians 3:10; 4:16; Philippians 3:17; 4:9; I Thessalonians 1:5,6; 4:1,2; II Thessalonians 3:7-9; I Timothy 1:15,16; II Timothy 2:7; 4:16,17.

Someday, we will follow Christ directly: Revelation 19:14 - And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

P.S. Note: Are we to be Christ-like today? (Purpose Driven and modern Christianity, etc.)?  Not now - but someday. See I John 3:2.  (Satan wants to be Christ-like - Isaiah 14:14)  Being Christ-like today is not being a genuine Christian - only an imitation!!!

Today, we are to follow the Christ that spoke to Paul
as He revealed Himself to Paul...
...not follow all that Christ spoke TO the Jews in the gospels.
Acts 9:1-22; 20:24; 26:15-28; Galatians 1:11,12; I Corinthians 15:8; II Corinthians 12:1-6; Ephesians 3:1-7.

It certainly is a more excellent way - the way of God more perfectly!
I Corinthians 12:31; Acts 18:24,25

This is the Christ that Paul speaks of - AFTER - Jesus Christ spoke to Paul.
This is Jesus Christ AFTER His death, burial and resurrection!

Christ had offered Himself to be the Messiah to the Jews and through them, the light to the Gentiles.
Luke 2:32
But the Jews rejected Him more than once!

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid:
but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles;
how much more their fulness?
Romans 11:11,12
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Romans 11:25
