Things Paul Can't Believe We Don't Know! |
What,
You Don't Know These Things?
Well, we had better take some time and learn
them, amen?
Amen!

I Audio Sermon - December 12 SS class
Notice the continual thinking words in this chapter:
then, therefore, for if, knowing this, henceforth, now, knowing, likewise,
what then? Chapter
6 reads like one specific thing that we
must know!
See also I Corinthians 6:15-20 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

6:14-19 Be ye not unequally yoked
together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And
what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth
with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell
in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith
the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith
the Lord Almighty.
However, be sure to read the entire chapter to
get the complete gist of this chapter. This chapter is a tough one
in these modern times! The local church is sure in a mess.
Church discipline in one area must be also covered in others, too.
Be sure to keep in mind Galatians 6:1 Brethren,
if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such
an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be
tempted.
Difficulties among the brethren!
You don't know this? Not many do, eh!
The context here is 'suing a brother!' If we can't take care of matters
ourselves now, the world uses that as judgment against us and the truth!
Again, the context MUST be read in order to get the complete understanding.
Read verses 1-8.
Remember, we will have the Word of God even more than we do today. Today, we have it in print; then we will have within as we will be like Christ! During those days in the Millennium, it is the Jews that will have the laws of the new covenant put into their mind and heart. Hebrews 8:10;10:16.
By the way, judging angels... some thoughts:
Colossians 3:2-4Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
To Our Shame
Paul says it is such a shame that this situation
even exists among the brethren! If
then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge
who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame.
Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall
be able to judge between his brethren? verses
4,5
The key word here is 'unrighteous!' As a saved person - a Christian - a Bible Believer, etc. we are actually considered righteous in God's eyes.
Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly,
his
faith is counted for righteousness.
II Corinthians 5:21 For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him.
Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the
law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith:
Christ has taken care of the righteousness situation!
Romans 10:4 For
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that
believeth.
Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the
law, then Christ is dead in vain.
With us today, the law is to be established in our walk as a testimony
of our love toward God, the law is not just made void! It is just
no longer a judge of righteousness. Christ took care of that - so
HE is the basis of righteousness; it must be HIS righteousness through
Him by HIS faith, according to Paul's gospel.
So, as we are actually considered righteous through Jesus Christ by
our faith in Christ, we DO inherit the Kingdom of God!
Romans 8:16,17
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs
with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified
together.
I Corinthians 12:13-27 (read
it all)
Ephesians 5:23-32
(read it all)
What is the kingdom of God, by the way? Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
P.S. These verses are describing people, not acts. It is the person we are concerned about here and even if we 'did' any of those things, WE are not at issue here, just the works, and they will burn as wood, hay, and stubble... but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Do you have the Kingdom of God? see Ephesians
1:13 Which is the earnest of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the
praise of his glory. So far, we only have received
an earnest amount!
I Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Use wisdom in that race!
I Corinthians 9:25-27
And
every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now
they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore
so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any
means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. (read the context for more 'detail' of this situation)
Made free, soon to be set free!
Hebrews 12:1 -
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us... For
now, that is not TO us - it will be TO the folks in the Millennium.
But still, isn't it great that sin has been set aside already through spiritual
circumcision thus making us free from sin?
John 8:32 And
ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Romans 6:18 Being
then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Romans 6:22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your
fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from
the law of sin and death.
But we do still keep battling it, eh! Romans
7 - but some day, it will truly and finally
be SET aside!
For the which cause I also suffer these
things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know whom I have believed,
and am persuaded that he is able to keep
that which I have committed unto him against
that day.
II Timothy 1:12
