The key to understanding sin today is to Rightly Divide -
II Timothy 2:15,16
Study to shew thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
But shun profane and vain babblings: for
they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Notice - how do you SHEW (not just
'be') yourself approved? rightly dividing the word of truth!
To whom do you shew yourself approved?
unto God
that means - DOING RIGHT, GROWING RIGHT not just KNOWING RIGHT!
how so?
notice in verse 16 that wrongly dividing brings forth profane and vain babblings - and it increases unto more what? UNGODLINESS!
That is all about the WALK, not just the TALK!
Not just a holiness legalistic walk!
It is just that now, Christ made it possible
(Psalm 98:1)
for us to be holy on the inside and to put forth a holy testimony on the
outside - not just in a holy law, but in a holy life righteousness, and
peace, and joy... Romans
14:17 For the kingdom of God is not
meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
It is more than just DOING right, it is more than BEING right, it is the
full life of a Christian and all that goes with it on the inside and outside.
righteousness - peace - joy = the Holy Ghost, not in our flesh!
even during 'sin' for a Christian!
More and more bible believing baptists, along with the other churches
in America,
have developed a false concept of sin.
Truthfully, to the Christian - "wrong" is still "wrong",
but "sin" is no longer "sin!"
Judgment Seat of Christ
It is sin BEFORE we are saved, but now, it is just 'wrongs' and will
be dealt with in the Judgment Seat of Christ.
White Throne Judgment
Sin is dealt with at the white throne judgment for the lost person
and for the person choosing salvation, sin is dealt with at the moment
of salvation!
Religious have better grip...
In fact, the lost religious world "appears" to be getting a better
grip on God's grace than we are, BUT... they have not truly received His
grace!
On His works, not theirs!
It is not based on their works as they claim from the gospels and Peter,
etc., it is based on HIS - Jesus Christ - works, and unfortunately, they
refuse Him!
Ephesians 2:8,9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In fact, they refuse His:
works
voice
face
fellowship
blood
sacrifice
words
his counsel
comfort
direction
light
etc.
...Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Thus, the BOASTING in churches all over America - and most recently,
the BIBLE BELIEVING BAPTISTS are beginning to boast, as well. They
have their family oriented activities, their gymnasiums, their programs
for the 'youth,' their activities, their banquets, their music presentations,
etc. The Great Commission continues it's work, even though it is
'dead in the water' as far as rightly dividing application goes.
Psalm 44:8 In
God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever.
Psalm 49:6,7
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude
of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother,
nor give to God a ransom for him:
Psalm 94:4,5
How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers
of iniquity boast themselves? They break in pieces thy people, O
LORD, and afflict thine heritage.
Psalm 97:7
Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves
of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
Which is it?
BOTH!
But they must be balanced!
Proverbs 11:1
A false balance is abomination to the LORD...
Yes, the LOST folks still need to hear from the schoolmaster!
Galatians 3:23,24 But
before
faith came, we were kept under the law,
shut up unto the faith which should
afterwards
be revealed.
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster
to
bring us unto Christ,
that we might be justified by faith.
Romans 3:19,20 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
But today, a person's faith today must be in Christ...
who then gives us HIS faith!
Therefore being justified by faith, we
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into
this grace wherein we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1,2
That faith is the faith OF Christ!
Romans 3:22; Galatians 2:16, 20; 3:22
Then... the SAVED folks no longer need to hear from the schoolmaster
Galatians 3:25,26 But
after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
For ye are all the children of God by faith
in Christ Jesus.
(You know what I mean, "God loves you and so do I"
and all that stuff.
God has offered to the lost His love through His only
begotten Son,
but if they reject Him, they don't have His love, so
don't tell lost folks that God loves them...
...until they are saved!)
Paul says in Romans 2
that the lost need to hear:
the judgment of God
the goodness of God
not His grace... - that is for the saved...
Schoolmaster - the KJB - Against the Law
It appears to me that one of the results from the wrong emphasis of
the Great Commission Confusion is not only has the schoolmaster been fired,
but he is close to becoming "Against the Law!"
The laws are now in the books that will be trying to keep folks from
preaching on sin - at least the way it is supposed to be preached, anyway.
The schoolmaster convicts! If they can make us get rid of the schoolmaster
once and for all, they will get rid of preaching on sin once and for all!
Hearing the preaching of the words of God in their proper rightly divided
manner is getting closer and closer to the status of Amos
8:11-13 - a famine! Behold,
the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land,
not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words
of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the
north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the
LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and
young men faint for thirst.
Christians today are being fed baby food - milk - strained vegetables
- no meat!
If a person DOES get saved, then because these pastors are picking and
choosing verses about salvation,
the result for the new Christian is NO UNDERSTANDING ON READING THE
BOOK!
The Modern "Great Commission" Causes
CONFUSION in the BOOK!
I have seen them preach using Matthew, but not Mark; early Acts ONLY, even from Revelation 22:17 for salvation; many are against the universal church saying the local church is the bride; they are lifting and building the church to prepare for the trib; they reject RD but show P&C so the folks never do get the Book down at all; they accuse us of of not being soul winners; they use modern methods to draw folks in (new music, no standards, etc.); and if truly born again, there is still no growth unless based on the church teachings instead of the Holy Bible - so they can very easily produce fake born-againers!
This confusion creates:
imitation Christians, spiritual abortions / permanent
babies (if saved)
and starving Christians who are not even aware that their
lives are to change
because nobody tells them that they are to put on the
new man!
I am not saying that I am against preaching on sin...
...but it must be done Paul's way.
I am not saying that I am against preaching on God's
love...
...but it must be done Paul's way!
