A More Excellent Way
Paul's teaching on Salvation
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
I Corinthians 12:31

Paul simply mentions salvation in more places than just 'how' to get it!

By the way...
Paul does not mention 'communion' for one's salvation!
Paul does not mention 'water baptism' for one's salvation!
Paul does not mention 'church attendance' for one's salvation!
Paul does not mention 'speaking in tongues' as a means of evidence of one's salvation!

In fact, Paul preaches that one can not lose His salvation, nor even 'give it up!'

Paul explains as he makes reference to salvation over and over.

Paul makes no reference to 'soul winning' by learning all the verses and preaching them to the lost!!!

In fact, there are 16 different references to salvation in the book of Acts.
Which one do you claim?

Ya know, if a person would truly grasp what Paul says about salvation,
he would have a bolder & deeper understand of his own salvation being the Biblically true salvation...
...and then would be much more able to get that salvation as a witness to others!

However, the salvation that others need is one that we SHOW, not just tell about!
BEING a witness is not some result of some biblical education, etc.

Soul winning is the result of your own salvation being real and obvious,
THEN others would want what you have by what they see,
not just by what you say!

Tonight, let's take a look at what Paul says about salvation!

Romans is the solid foundation of one's salvation.  Chapters 3-10 especially.  Read through those chapters praying for an understanding and grasp!

We know that Paul marvels at how quickly people are willing to listen to 'another gospel', a false gospel - a gospel that he never preached! If the gospel you have heard or are hearing today does not match what Paul preaches from Romans to Philemon, you are listening to an accursed gospel!

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.  Galatians 1:6-9

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.  I Corinthians 11:2-4

Yes, if we apply any gospel from before Paul, or after Paul, we are preaching an accursed gospel for this day!

These are the verses that we 'visit.'  This is not a deeply preached sermon - we are just quickly looking at all the many references that Paul has from Romans to Philemon and commenting on how he just mentions salvation more of what it consists of, not so much in how to get it.

We will see some key words in all of these verses.  Trust, Faith, Believe, through, In, On are some of the key words that appear regularly..

We start with Acts 26:13-20 and then 26-28 as we read about Paul's commission to the Gentiles.

Romans 3:28; 4:24;5:1,4; 6:17; 7:25; 8:2; 10:8-13,17
I Corinthians 12:13; 15:1-8,11
II Corinthians 4:5,6,44; 6:2; 7:1
Galatians 2:16; 3:14,22,24; 5:6
Ephesians 1:12-14; 2:5,8-9,13; 3:2,17,19
I Thessalonians 1:9; 2:13,16
II Thessalonians 2:13
I Timothy 1:16; 2:4; 4:10; 6:12,17
II Timothy 1:13,14; 2:10; 3:15
Titus 3:5

Yes, the salvation Paul preaches he also teaches... and it is different than any gospel before and after his.
I hope you have his and not someone else's!!!
