If Paul
Came Back,
What Would
He Be Expecting / Hoping from Us?
Paul is not coming back - and that is a good thing. Paul, being the master builder, would certainly put us in our place,
eh!
Take the wrong!
I Corinthians 6:7 - Now
therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one
with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer
yourselves to be defrauded?
defrauded = persecuted? being used? taken
advantage of? or seriously burned / slandered, etc.
is a brother really a true brother?
Check out Paul's salvation definitions!
take wrong - if it is a continuing situation and/or
is bad enough, how about 'avoiding' - 'withdrawing from', etc.
if possible, live peaceably... Romans
12:18
I Timothy 3:5 - (For
if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of
the church of God?)
rule of thumb for house? Paul's manner of life!
Taste the word of God!
Romans 10:17 -
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Psalm 34:8 - O
taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in
him.
Psalm 119:103 -
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to
my mouth!
Galatians 3:2 -This
only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law,
or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:5 -
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among
you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Teach - all of you - TEACH!
I Timothy 4:11 - These
things command and teach.
I Timothy 6:2 - And
they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they
are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and
beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
Titus 1:11 - Whose
mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which
they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Titus 2:4,5 - That
they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to
love their children, To be discreet, chast, keepers at home, good, obedient
to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Are young women even wanting to learn these things?
Where have they been 'untaught' these desires?
home? school? work place? examples
of others in the church, in spite of what is preached...?
Near as I can see everywhere, women have pretty much
all turned aside after Satan - or been forced to by a situation or predicament.
But for a parent or a husband force his wife - daughter to blaspheme the
word of God is beyond my understanding!
I Timothy 2:9-12
is a rare woman these days!
I Timothy 5:11-15
is as common as the household fly these days!
Titus 2:12 - Teaching
us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,
righteously, and godly, in this present world;
II Timothy 2:2 - And
the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit
thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Tears
Acts 20:19 - Serving
the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations,
which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
Jewish doctrine such as Great Commission today???
of course!
Acts 20:31 - Therefore
watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn
every one night and day with tears.
II Timothy 1:4 - Greatly
desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled
with joy;
Be not Terrified
Philippians 1:28 - And
in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token
of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
That fear of man can put you into a snare that from
the likes of snares today, you won't be able to get out on your own - if
you can get out at all?
Proverbs 29:25 -The
fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall
be safe.
II Timothy 2:26 - And
that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are
taken captive by him at his will.
Know the Terror
II Corinthians 5:11 -
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made
manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
terror of the OT / Gospels / Tribulation, etc.
still have to read that stuff!
the consequences are not to us, though!
Testify
Acts 23:11 - And
the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer,
Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear
witness also at Rome.
Be not Ashamed of their Testimony
II Timothy 1:8 - Be
not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his
prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according
to the power of God;
Be Thankful
I Timothy 1:12 - And
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath
Romans 6:17 - But
God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from
the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
I Corinthians 15:57 - But
thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 4:2 - Continue
in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
I Timothy 4:3 - Forbidding
to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created
to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Think
I Corinthians 10:12 - Wherefore
let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
II Corinthians 3:5 - Not
that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves;
but our sufficiency is of God;

if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth
himself.
Philippians 4:8 - Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there
be any praise, think on these things.
Ephesians 3:20 - Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Thoughts

down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience
of Christ;

I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as
a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Not be Tossed to and fro...
Ephesians 4:14 - That
we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Touch not
II Corinthians 6:17 - Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
Not to believe the Tradition of men!
Colossians 2:8 - Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition
of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Triumph then and now!
II Corinthians 2:14 - Now
thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh
manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
Later - AND now!
Don't Allow Yourself to be Troubled in a troubling world!
II Corinthians 4:8 - We
are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not
in despair;
II Corinthians 7:5 - For,
when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled
on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the
gospel of Christ.
Galatians 6:17 - From
henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the
Lord Jesus.

of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed
with that holy Spirit of promise,

he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla
had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God
more perfectly.

the truth, the life - but today, Paul is the way to
