Corinthians According to Paul & the KJB1611
|
Click
to skip down to the specific chapter and verses containing the audio/video
links.
There will be few detailed written
notes for much of this particular series. The details will be much
easier to grasp if you just listen to the audio as we read through I
& II Corinthians.
The purpose is not to make this into
my detailed personal commentary on Corinthians,
but to be emphasizing how the understanding of these verses depend on the
concept of 'before the KJB' and 'after the KJB.'
-
We know the key to understanding a King
James Bible is to rightly divide according to Paul's books.
II Timothy 2:15,16
-
We also need to know the key to understanding
Corinthians
is to rightly divide Corinthians according to 'before KJB' and 'after
KJB.' I Corinthians 13:8-10
If we try to apply I
& II Corinthians TO us today exactly as stated, then
we would have a 'magic Jesus - we would have to believe in the anointing
today (I John 2:27) and
we would have to believe that we really don't 'need' a written Word of
God / Bible to learn about God, etc.
If this all does
not make sense to you, I just ask you to just give the first audio sermon
a try as I explain it completely in part I
and the rest of the sermons show how all of Corinthians makes total sense
to us today based on the importance of the King James Bible while at the
same time today, following Paul.
For this
cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have
heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore
in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge
in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known
unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and
prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of
the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof
I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given
unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Ephesians 3:4-7
Even though we
read through practically each and very chapter, the verses that I 'park'
on are the ones that deal with 'do we expect this today?' and if
so, "How does it come about?"

To the church

-
I Corinthians
15:9 / Galatians 1:13 / Romans 16:7
-
disproves the
mid-Acts issue about the beginning of the church of God - this verse proves
that it existed BEFORE Paul!
-
Romans 16:7
- Salute Andronicus and Junia, my
kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who
also were in Christ before me.
-
But today, Paul
is the one who lays the foundation - not the earlier apostles... as our
wise masterbuilder, etc.

-
vss. 14-16
-
Paul is our father in many ways - and he even says so.
-
here is a great example for all you
lousy, selfish, worthless fathers out there - if you really care about
your family, here is your 'father' to learn from - if you really care,
that is.

Chapter Six & Seven -
June 27, 2010
-
vss. 6:1-8;
9-12; 13-20
-
vs. 7
- this chapter is a chapter that is grossly mistaught in almost all the
pulpits in America - divorce and remarriage, etc. Listen and read closely
every verse and especially every word!
-
The chapter actually
does not follow a single subject - as you will see below, it skips around
within the chapter itself, thus the misorder of the listings here.
-
7:1 -
a man should not touch a woman - period! Not even the hand touch/shake
let alone these ridiculous Christian hugs that is going on in the churches
and family!;
-
7:2-5; 6,40;
7,8,43-34,39,15
-
7:16 -
you think you can fix your church instead of leaving it, you are wrong,
just like you may think you can fix your husband / wife by hanging around
a disaster marriage!

Chapter Eight
& Nine
-
vs. 8 -
all about idols!
-
Idolatry -
The worship of idols, images, or any thing made by hands, or which is not
God. Excessive attachment or veneration for any thing, or that which
borders on adoration.
-
vss. 1, 7
- another example of God given knowledge in part - see I
Corinthians 13:8-10
-
vs. 2 -
knowing more than you think you know. The more we learn this KJB,
the more we realize we don't know...
-
vs. 3 -
if you do your 'standards' in your walk for God, and not for selfish, prideful
reasons, then people will know you love God... check your own motives for
why you dress like you do, behave like you try to do, etc.
-
vss. 4-13
- we have this backwards today - we should NOT refrain from doing right,
dressing right, etc. for fear of causing the lost to stumble, etc.
We should do right always! What Paul tells us is to not
do the wrong thing less we cause those weaker ones to stumble. There
ya go - we lose another false reason to not do right!!!
-
We are not to
cause the 'brethren' to stumble - not the lost.
-
The lost will
stumble no matter what we do...
-
vs. 9 -
paying the preacher...
-
vss. 1-18 -
the best way to explain what Paul says about taking care of your pastor,
etc. is to listen to the audio as we read through chapter
9.
-
It may not be
what you think or want - but it is a great teaching...
-
vss. 24-27
- how to run the race!
-
not like some
jerk flailing his arms - but keeping it all under control running as hard
as it takes to be a winner!
-
You are already
in the right race - you are saved.
-
Now, you must
build - and build hard - run the race with what it takes to be a winner!

Chapter Ten - July
4, 2010
-
vs. 1 -
Paul's reference to 'fathers' - still Jews hearing Paul, thus some of the
Jewish things being preached to the crowds in Corinth.
-
See Acts 18:7-16
-
vss. 2-11 -
Wilderness journey references
-
Christ's involvement
-
OT stories that we still need to learn,
be aware of, and teach our children
-
vs 11 -
for ensamples and for our admonition
-
vs 12 -
our own conceit and pride can STILL bring our fall over those very issues
-
vs 13 -
good verse on temptation
-
vs 14
- even though all things are lawful, including the above list, they are
still not expedient to do!
-
vs. 15
- a wise man judges what Paul says!!!
-
vss. 16-22
- communion during Paul's day... was not a directive to us - he was telling
the people what happened at the 'last supper' with the disciples - towards
the Jews.
-
vss. 20 - 22
- sacrifice to devils - playing in the world as a Christian, etc. provoking
the Lord to jealousy because we think we are stronger than he...
-
all things lawful but NOT expedient
- do not edify!
-
eating for false worship / idols, etc.
-
vs. 31
- do all for God's glory, etc.
-
vs. 33
- we think of ourselves way too much these days!

-
vs. 1 -
follow Paul
-
vs. 2
- ordinances
-
vs. 3 - proper
order in the home, etc.
-
vss. 4-15 -
long / short hair as a covering, etc.
-
16
- not a contention, though
-
vss. 18-19
-
purpose of heresies
-
vss. 20-34
- Lords Supper
-
does Paul direct us to take it?
no
-
read it carefully
-
vs 23 -
learn where it took place - Paul is just telling the story of Jesus' last
supper with the disciples.
-
vs 28 - 32
- is that what Paul teaches to Gentiles now that the KJB has come?
-
vs 28-32
- is that what Paul's doctrine teaches now or did it leave with healing,
speaking in tongues, etc.

Today?
-
Acts 2:38-47;
8:20; 10:45 - Today?
-
We also touched
on these verses dealing with gifts...
-
The laying on
of hands of Paul to Timothy - but not today!
-
I Timothy 4:14
-
II Timothy
1:6
-
God's gifts to
us - grace, eternal life, His righteousness
-
Ephesians 3:7;
4:7; 2:8; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:15-18
-
Desiring spiritual
gifts
-
Being zealous
of spiritual gifts
-
We are members
of his body

-
I Corinthians
12:12-27
-
Romans 12:4,5
-
A more excellent
way today
-
Charity is not
'over' - is not the 'most important' - is not 'the greatest' - the KJB
is today

Chapter Fourteen -
July 11, 2010
-
Three different 'kinds' of tongues -
which ones, if any, are for today?
-
None since the King James Bible!
-
I Corinthians
13:8 - Charity never faileth: but
whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues,
they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
-
This chapter along with Acts 2 is the
doctrinal base for the Pentecostals/Charismatics, etc. but not only are
they mixed up, it is all wrongly divided to try to apply this to today!
-
This is where they get their visions,
women preachers, healings, speaking in tongues, etc. but they can't be
more wrong!
-
They don't dare turn to a KJB - they
must use a modern bible, although they really don't use the bible anyway
- just their feelings, fleshly experiences to prove their teachings.
-
KJB rightly divided destroys speaking
in tongues today!
-
Three different 'tongues.'
-
New - other tongues
-
These will come up again during the
last days - unto men!
-
Unspeakable - unlawful
-
II Corinthians
12:4
-
spoken in paradise - heaven - NOT here!
-
Unknown
-
I Corinthians
14
-
unto God
-
Listen to the audio sermon for details
on these and why none of these are to be applied to us today!
-
We compare Paul's teachings with today's
Pentecostal teachings!
-
Bonus bunny trail:
edify
-
We are to edify the body of Christ -
one another, etc. but contrary to misused & rewritten I
Corinthians 14:3 as the Pentecostals teach, study I
Corinthians 14:3-5, 19-25
and you will see that WE ARE NEVER TO EDIFY OURSELVES!
-
Edify
word study
-
see
Romans 14:19; I Corinthians 14:5,12; Ephesians 4:12, 16, 29; I Thessalonians
5:11
-
We can & will be edified - but not
by ourselves!
-
"Self edification" is what the
modern Christian is doing these days - doing things for their own benefit
/ happiness, etc.

Chapter Fifteen
- July 14, 2010
-
vss. 1-11 -
the gospel that I preached! - follow Paul's gospel! - includes one's salvation!
- laboured more than the other apostles...
-
Romans 2:16;
Galatians 1:8; Philippians 4:9; Ephesians 1:13, etc.
-
vss. 12-19
- Why do Christians act like Christ didn't
rise? They ignore his 'risen' teachings!
-
they believe and
thus act like they are still in their sins needing confession, etc.
-
vs 19 - Christians
who do not understand and follow Paul are men
most miserable by not following Paul...
-
vss. 20-23
- all shall be made alive
- us - but only through Paul and the RISEN Saviour
-
vss. 24-28
- see
Revelation 11:15 - all under the Father
- God!
-
vss. 29-32
- baptism for the dead?
-
for those who
don't believe in the resurrection, why baptist for the dead?
-
this is not a
verse to use as a text proof verse to be a Mormon!
-
vs. 33 -
evil communication...
-
vs. 34 -
some don't know... our fault
-
vss. 33-35
- there are such things as dumb questions
- here is one from a fool
-
vss. 36-38
- the answer - seeds must die first, so

-
Adam - a living
soul, natural, earthy
-

-
A sermon on money
and giving!
-
Are 'Tithes and
Offerings' still the standard to giving?
-
Is Malachi
3:8 written TO you? Are you 'robbing
God?'
-
Matthew 23:23
- is a good 'ensample' verse for our admonition and learning: Do you
write checks but do nothing else as a Christian?
-
What does Anathema
Maranatha really mean?
-
Give liberally
as God hath prospered you! THAT is the standard for giving today!
