What
We Should Be Able To 'See' Today
|
Manifest - Plain, open, clearly
visible to the eye or obvious to the understanding; apparent; not obscure
or difficult to be seen or understood.
Not as signs!
-
I Corinthians
1:22 - For the Jews require a sign, and
the Greeks seek after wisdom:
The next 'sign' for people today?
-
Matthew 24:30
- And then shall appear the sign of the
Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power
and great glory.
Blinded? Can't see? Can't
understand?
-
Jewish stuff still?
-
Romans 11:25
- For I would not, brethren, that ye should
be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in.
-
Caught up in the
OT design?
-
II Corinthians
3:14 - But their minds were blinded: for
until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the
old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
-
Lost - do not
believe?
-
II Corinthians
4:4 - In whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious
gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
-
Not reading a
rightly divided word of truth?
-
Ephesians 4:18
- Having the understanding darkened, being
alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because
of the blindness of their heart:
-
Read
verses 17-21
Note: You can not use these
verses - they are not written 'to' us today. They are written
to the Jews during the Tribulation.
-
II Peter 1:9
- But he that lacketh these things is blind,
and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his
old sins.
-
See
verses 10,11
- that is certainly not pertaining to us today!
-
I John 2:11
- But he that hateth his brother is in
darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because
that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
-
See
verses 18, 20, 27, 3:7-10,15 - that
is certainly not pertaining to us today!
-
Revelation
3:17 - Because thou sayest, I am rich,
and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that
thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
-
See
verses 16,19 as
well as 2:20
- that is all against Paul's doctrine - see
Galatians 1:8,9
It takes Paul
to help us open our eyes to the Risen Saviour today!
-
Acts 26:18
- To open their eyes, and to turn them
from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they
may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified
by faith that is in me.
-
Acts 28:26
- Saying, Go unto this people, and say,
Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see,
and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should
see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their
heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
-
When we hear today:
-
we have the opportunity
to 'see' with our eyes;
-
we have the opportunity
to 'hear' with our ears;
-
we have
the opportunity to 'understand' with our heart;
-
we have
the opportunity to be 'converted,'
-
thus we have the
opportunity for our spiritual healing today and our physical healing tomorrow!
-
Paul lays the
foundation for us today!
-
I Corinthians
3:10-11 - According
to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I
have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man
take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay
than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Ok,
so what has been manifested to us today?
I.
God
-
I Timothy 3:16
- And
without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest
in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the
Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
-
Shows the importance
of still reading the Gospels - to know and 'see' God on earth!
-
We don't know
how it was actually done, but we know it was done through Jesus Christ!
-
That is faith
- as 'they' say, the completed work of Christ.
-
So why don't they
believe what they say?
-
Completed except
you must work to keep that salvation - or work to keep His fellowship?
-
Unscriptural!!!
-
Philippians
2:5-8 - Let this mind be in you, which
was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took
upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
-
Worshipped
-
Philippians
2:10,11 - That at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under
the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
-
God Himself Fulfilled
His own law
-
Matthew 5:17-18
- Think not that I am come to destroy the
law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For
verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
-
Genesis 22:8
- And Abraham said, My son, God will provide
himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
-
Exodus 12:1-5
- a lamb ... the lamb ... your lamb
...
II.
Righteousness of God
-
Romans 3:21,22
- But now the righteousness of God without
the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even
the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and
upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
-
Romans 2:16
- In the day when God shall judge
the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
-
Romans 1:17
- For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by
faith.
-
Romans 10:3
- For they being ignorant of God's righteousness,
and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted
themselves unto the righteousness of God.
-
II Corinthians
5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for
us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in
him.
-
Galatians 2:21
- I do not frustrate the grace of God:
for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
-
Philippians
3:9 - And be found in him, not having mine
own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith
of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
III.
Righteous Judgment of God
-
II Thessalonians
1:5 - Which is a manifest token of the
righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom
of God, for which ye also suffer:
-
see 3-10
for 'what is' the manifest token...
-
Galatians 5:10
- I have confidence in you through the
Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you
shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
-
see 11,12
- it isn't just about being troubled -
it also involves his goodness, which we know is Paul's 'message.'
-
Romans 2:4
- Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness
and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God
leadeth thee to repentance?
-
being able to
handle the persecution, we can still see his goodness as he doesn't cast
judgment on those at that time!
-
Romans 8:18
- For I reckon that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us.
-
II Corinthians
4:15-18 - For all things are for
your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many
redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our
outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are
seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen
are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
-
Paul says we will
'experience' this manifest token...
-
II Timothy
3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly
in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
IV.
The 'Mystery of Christ'
-
Ephesians 3:1-6
-
Colossians
1:26 - Even the mystery which hath been
hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
-
Romans 16:25,26
- Now to him that is of power to
stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since
the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the
prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known
to all nations for the obedience of faith:
-
Through Paul to
them!
-
Colossians
4:3,4 - Withal praying also for us, that
God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ,
for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to
speak.
-
Colossians
1:25 - Whereof I am made a minister, according
to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the
word of God;
-
II Corinthians
11:6 - But though I be rude in speech,
yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you
in all things.
-
Philippians
1:13 - So that my bonds in Christ are manifest
in all the palace, and in all other places;
-
II Corinthians
5:11 - Knowing therefore the terror of
the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust
also are made manifest in your consciences.
-
II Timothy
1:8-11
-
Titus 1:3 -
But hath in due times manifested his word
through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment
of God our Saviour;
-
Through KJB to
us!
-
I Corinthians
13:10 -
-
I Thessalonians
2:13 -
-
Titus 1:3 -
But hath in due times manifested his word
through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment
of God our Saviour;
V. Works
of the Flesh
-
Galatians 5:19-21
- Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: ...
-
Colossians
2:11-16 - spiritual circumcision
-
we see the difference
now - and fight the battle - flesh & Spirit & mind
-
Ephesians 5:13
- But all things that are reproved are
made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
VI.
Truth to Us Today
-
I Corinthians
13:10 - But when that which is perfect
is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
-
II Corinthians
4:1-4 - Therefore seeing we have this ministry,
as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden
things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word
of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves
to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
-
II Corinthians
4:5-6 - For we preach not ourselves, but
Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For
God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our
hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face
of Jesus Christ.
-
Through KJB to
us!

-
I Thessalonians
2:13 -
-
Titus 1:3 -
But hath in due times manifested his word
through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment
of God our Saviour;
VII.
Our Works
-
I Corinthians
3:13 - Every man's work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and
the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
VIII.
The Counsels of Our Heart
-
I Corinthians
4:5 - Therefore judge nothing before the
time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things
of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then
shall every man have praise of God.
-
I Corinthians
14:24-25 - But if all prophesy, and there
come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all,
he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest;
and so falling down on his face
IX.
Those 'Approved of God'
-
I Corinthians
11:19 - For there must be also heresies
among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
-
II Timothy
2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word
of truth.
X. Our
Testimony of Christ and Paul
-
II Corinthians
2:4-11 - Always bearing about in the body
the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto
death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest
in our mortal flesh.
-
II Timothy
1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of
the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker
of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
XI.
Religion - Today's False Deceiving Damning Modern Christianity!
-
II Timothy
3:9 - But they shall proceed no further:
for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
