Jeremiah's
Words For Us Today
Part VII
Chapters
21-23
|
For
who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD,
and
hath perceived and heard his word?
who
hath marked his word, and heart it?
Jeremiah
23:18
God
does put the hammer to Jermiah's people - but not to Paul's today!
But watch
out for that Tribulation!!!
Chapter
21
Here is
what King Zedekiah is told concerning his people even as they war against
their enemy!
-
21:3-7 -Then
said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah: Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are
in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against
the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble
them into the midst of this city. And I myself will fight against you with
an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury,
and in great wrath. And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both
man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence. And afterward, saith
the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and
the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from
the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of
Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those
that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword;
he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
-
This is the stuff
that people today use to accuse God of not being a loving God!
They have two
choices but neither one is a comfortable life choice!
-
21:8-10 -And
unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before
you the way of life, and the way of death. He that abideth in this city
shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he
that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall
live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey. For I have set my
face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall
be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with
fire.
-
Stay in the city
and die or live under Chaldean rule!
And to the
house of the king of Judah!
-
21:11-14 -
And
touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning,
and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest
my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of
the evil of your doings. Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the
valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come
down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations? But I will
punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I
will kindle a fire in the for
-
Tough, eh!
-
Old Testament,
remember - NOT today
-
Romans 2:45;
Philippians 4:9, etc.
-
Remember, the
Tribulation will be worse than this!
-
And yes, people
will still even accuse God then - and they can tell Him face to face at
their white throne judgment!
Chapter
22
Have you
not noticed - all this is based on their works!
-
Why do the religiously
disadvantaged educated folks think there is no works in OT for God's physical
blessings?
-
The preachers
still preach the blessings or cursing styled sermons today!
-
That makes for
great fearful preaching today - but it is not the message that the Risen
Saviour has for us today!
God tells Jeremiah
what to say to His people!
-
Do they want cursings
or blessings?
-
22:1-3 -Thus
saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there
this word, And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest
upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter
in by these gates: Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness,
and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong,
do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither
she
-
'Blessed' if
they do...
-
22:4 -For
if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this
house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on
horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
-
'Hammered'
if they will not...
-
22:5-8 - But
if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that
this house shall become a desolation. For thus saith the LORD unto the
king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon:
yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons:
and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man
to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
And here is
why they get the cursing instead of God's blessings!
-
22:9-17 -Then
they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD
their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them. Weep ye not for
the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for
he shall return no more, nor see his native country. For thus saith the
LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead
of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not
return thither any more: But he shall die in the place whither they have
led him captive, and shall see this land no more. Woe unto him that buildeth
his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his
neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work; That
saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him
out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion. Shalt
thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father
eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was
not this to know me? saith the LORD. But thine eyes and thine heart
are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for
oppression, and for violence, to do it.
Don't pray
for them - don't even lament for them!
-
22:18-20 -
Therefore
thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah;
They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister!
they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond
the gates of Jerusalem. Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice
in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
Ah, the benefits
of prosperity
-
22:21-23 -
I
spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear.
This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity:
surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious
shalt thou be when pan
-
See I
Timothy 6:10, etc.
A destroyed
Coniah - no more male seed on the throne!
-
22:24-30 -
As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah
were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence; And
I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the
hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar
king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans. And I will cast thee
out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were
not born; and there shall ye die. But to the land whereunto they desire
to return, thither shall they not return. Is this man Coniah a despised
broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore
are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they
know not? O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith
the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in
his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne
of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
Chapter
23
The
following verses couldn't be more 'on the mark' concerning today's pastors,
preachers, preacherettes, etc.
when
it comes to their lies and then their saying the Lord told them to
say what they say today!
The
only way you can see the truth of this is to rightly divide the word of
truth according to Paul in a KJB!!
The real
Christians leave the 'church' today!
-
23:1 -
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!
saith the LORD. Therefore
thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people;
Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited
them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the
LORD.
-
...because of
the music in churches today; the modern preaching (?) teaching, messages,
etc.; the people themselves; lowering of modesty standards, etc. ; kids
being falsely led to the Lord, etc.
-
They know something
is not right - and they are eventually pushed out of their own church by
the people and the pastor!
-
Modern worship
today is against the scriptures - see Acts
17 - Paul's sermon on Mars Hill!
Millennium
-
23:3-6 -
And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither
I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they
shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which
shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither
shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the
LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall
reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this
is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Just because
of the Lord and his words!
-
23:9 - Mine
heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake;
I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because
of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
-
Have you ever
felt this strong about the 'issues' today as pointed out by the KJB?
-
Have you ever
felt this strong about the KJB?
-
With what you
have learned, how can you not sorrow and be grieved?
-
Ecclesiastes
1:18 -
More of the
coming Tribulation Truth!
-
23:10 - For
the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth;
the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is
evil, and their force is not right.
-
Sure does sound
more and more like today - it can't be far away when one considers Romans
11:22 and how they hate Paul's teachings
of the goodness of God, etc.
In the local
'church' today, even though the real house is ourselves...
-
23:11 - For
both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their
wickedness, saith the LORD.
-
profane is irreverent
to anything of God - Secular - opposite of holy.
Slippery ways
in the darkness!
-
23:12 - Wherefore
their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall
be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the
year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
Modern Bible
versions, etc.
-
23:16 - Thus
saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that
prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own
heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
-
They make people
vain!
-
They speak a vision
of their own heart!
-
They speak not
from the mouth of God!
Preaching a
false peace
-
23:17 - They
say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have
peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of
his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
Do you read
your KJB? Have you marked with more than just a pencil?
-
23:18 - For
who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard
his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
-
Ephesians 4:17-21,
especially20,21
-
I Corinthians
13:10 - face to face with the Risen Saviour
through that KJB!
As time runs out,
folks need to know about God's final judgment!
-
23:19-20 -
Behold,
a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind:
it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the
LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed
the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
Today's preachers
/ pastors, etc.
-
23:21 - I
have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them,
yet they prophesied.
-
They say they
have been called!
-
They say that
God told them in their heart, etc.
They don't preach
His words thus folks have not turned from their evil way towards Paul's
ways of turn!
-
23:22 - But
if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words,
then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil
of their doings.
God is close
at hand to the Christian today!
-
23-24 -Am
I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Can any hide himself in secret places that
I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and
earth? saith the LORD.
-
See Ephesians

The infamous
'I Have a Dream' sermon...
...and people
thought MLK made that up... ha, right!
He just read his
Old Testament - which is where he gets his false peace from!
23:25 -
I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying,
I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
...of the deceit
of their own heart!
-
23:26 -
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies?
yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
They forget
the real risen Saviour today!
-
23:27 - Which
think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell
every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for
Baal.
-
They hear of 'another
Jesus' that Paul warned about!
-
They don't hear
the preachings from the Risen Saviour to the Gentiles through Paul today!
-
They have forgotten
the real Jesus Christ for the name of the devil, as subtle as he is - and
an angel of light, etc.
Speak His word
faithfully even amongst the dreamers...
-
23:28 - The
prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word,
let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?
saith the LORD.
-
And they think
WE speak a dream today?
-
They just can't
believe God would do what Paul says He did...
-
Romans 1:23
- They changed the glory of the uncorruptible
God into an image made like to corruptible man, etc.
Great typology
in the KJB!
-
23:29 - Is
not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that
breaketh the rock in pieces?
-
See
Jeremiah 5:14 - Wherefore thus saith the
LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words
in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
The Greatest
Theft of all Time
-
23:30 -
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal
my words every one from his neighbour.
God is AGAINST
them - even today!
-
23:31 -
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues,
and say, He saith.
God is AGAINST
them - even today!
-
23:32 -
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and
do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness;
yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit
this people at all, saith the LORD.
The burden
of the LORD?
-
23:33-35
- And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying,
What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What
burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD. And as for the prophet,
and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD,
I will even punish that man and his house. Thus shall ye say every
one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD
answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
-
God had no burden
for those people!
-
Their burden was
their own words!
Let man be
his own burden about himself!
-
23:36 -
And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word
shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God,
of the LORD of hosts our God.
They will ask
eventually to those of us who have stated the very WORDS from the mouth
of God!
-
23:37 -
Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee?
and, What hath the LORD spoken?
But it will
be too late!
-
23:38-39 -
But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD;
Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto
you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD; Therefore, behold,
I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city
that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
Everlasting
and Perpetual
-
23:40 -
And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame,
which shall not be forgotten.
-

-
lasting or enduring
forever; eternal; existing without end
-
Reproach
-
Censure mingled
with contempt or derision
-
Shame; infamy;
disgrace
-
Object of contempt,
scorn or derision.
-
That which is
the cause of shame or disgrace
-
Perpetual
-
never ceasing;
continuing forever in future time, destined to be eternal
-
continuing or
continued without intermission; uninterrupted
-
permanent; fixed;
not temporary
-
everlasting; endless
-
shall not
be forgotten!
