Jeremiah's
Words For Us Today
Part VI
Chapters
16-20
|
Then
said they, Come, and let us sevise devices against Jeremiah...
let
us not give heed to any of his words.
Jeremiah
18:18
Let's get more
general now that you ought to be able to see for yourself all the potential
Tribulation verses in the Book of Jeremiah.
Let's 'zero' in on those verses that
can easily be applied for us to be able to 'use' in our observations of
today's modern Christianity as it rejects the very words of the Risen Saviour
directed towards the Gentile nation along with the entire KJB as God's
words inspired and preserved for everyone today.
Chapter
16
-
After reading 16:1-9
and thinking of the tribulation as well as the OT times, don't you still
hear people today asking the same question today in verse
10. "Wherefore hat the LORD
pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity?
or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?"
-
Right - "What have we done to deserve
this?" they will ask.
-
Why does God get the blame today for
what we have chosen to do - lost or saved, it doesn't matter.
-
Again, read Romans
2:4,5!
-
He gave us the Book - why don't we know
the answers today?
-
I Corinthians
13:10 tells us the knowledge is in that Book... it supercedes
everything today - even His name!
-
Oh, the answer to that question from
16:10 is in verses
11-13 - Then shalt thou say unto
them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked
after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have
forsaken me, and have not kept my law; And ye have done worse than your
fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil
heart, that they may not hearken unto me: Therefore will I cast you out
of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers;
and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew
you favour.
-
Praise the Lord for His grace through
Paul, today!!!!
-
There is NO REASON or EXCUSE to be caught
into the coming Tribulation - we have the KJB to expose all false doctrine
and show all truth!
Chapter
17
As the Tribulation details continue
on... let's look at more key verses we can understand today when compared
with the falling away - as the Jews did, so do the Gentiles today!
-
17:5 - Thus
saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh
his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
-
17:7,8 - Blessed
is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he
shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots
by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be
green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease
from yielding fruit.
-
17:9 - The
heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know
it?
-
17:10 - I
the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according
to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
-
17:14 - Heal
me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou
art my praise.
-
17:15 - Behold,
they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
-
17:18 - Let
them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let
them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of
evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
Any Sabbath followers in the audience
today?
-
Note 17:21-27
-
Again, I suggest you Sabbath keepers
learn Romans 2:4,5 and
you will know why it seems that you are not being chastised because of
your false doctrine on Sabbath teachings today - it isn't because you are
right and are receiving God's 'physical blessings.'
-
Also note what
Paul says in Colossians 2:16 - Let
no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday,
or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Chapter
18
18:1-10 -
The Potter and His House
-
The potters house
is the King James Bible today.
-
The Risen Saviour
works on us through that Book - rightly divided, through Paul's writings.
-
Philippians
1:6 - Being confident of this very thing,
that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day
of Jesus Christ:
18:12
- And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices,
and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
-
Ever heard that
before?
-
All the time,
lately.
-
Folks are losing
hope - and are doing 'what they think to be ok for themselves!
-
They have experienced
the folly of modern Christianity thus they have lost their hope - so they
do their own thing - at least if 'feels' better to them than always wondering
where God is at in their lives!
-
Their hope was
based on religion and other 'gods' - and none of that ever comes through
for them... but they blame God!
Well said!
18:15-17
-
heading for the
Tribulation because they are ignoring the KJB and Paul's teachings of the
Risen Saviour!
-
burned incense
to vanity!
-
caused them
to stumble in their ways...
-
to walk
in paths, in a way not cast up!
-
In other words
today, they refuse to look to Paul's ways of the Risen Saviour!
18:18 - Then
said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law
shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word
from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and
let us not give heed to any of his words.
-
Devise devices
against Jeremiah?
-
They did to Nehemiah,
too.
-
How about towards
us today?
-
Of course!
-
Just because we
talk God's WORDS!
-
Oh, it will be
so horrible to them who reject His Risen Son and His words in that KJB!
18:19-23 -
-
What a hard prayer
from Jeremiah!
-
Paul prays a different
prayer for those who reject his teachings!
-
-
But Paul knows
what is coming eventually for them.
-
They have all
even treated Paul poorly!
-
The goodness and
longsuffering of God is in application today, but it won't be forever!
-
Paul talks about
vengeance from God - it is still a serious issue.
-
Romans 2:4,5
doesn't go on forever. See Romans
11:22 to see what I mean!
-
It will be so
hard on children - see verse 21
-
Also see Lamentations
4:10 - The hands of the pitiful women have
sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the
daughter of my people.
-
You might as well
read all of Lamentations.
-
Remember, the
Tribulation will be worse!
-
Matthew 24:21
- For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor
ever shall be.
Chapter
19
-
More highlited
key verses for our purpose of this series...
-
19:4,5 - Because
they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense
in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known,
nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire
for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither
came it into my mind:
-
19:13 - And
the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be
defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs
they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out
drink offerings unto other gods.
-
19:14-15 -
Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, whither
the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD's
house; and said to all the people, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God
of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all
the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened
their necks, that they might not hear my words.
Chapter
20
-
Don't mess with
Jeremiah!
-
Pastors today
try to claim immunity - touch not the anointed... obey them according to
Hebrews 13,7,17,
etc.
-
Sadly, most folks
believe them to this day even when they know the pastor is wrong!
-
They like the
guy - his personality, etc. which is another fact of the Tribulation.
-
Jude 16 - These
are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth
speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because
of advantage.
-
Jeremiah is a
great whiner!
-
20:7-9
- Jeremiah tries to blame God
-
20:9 -
But he couldn't quit!
-
20:10 -
His familiars seeking his halting!
-
20:11 -
It will be happen to them eventually!
-
20:14 -18 -
Cursed his day of birth
