Jeremiah's
Words For Us Today
Part IV
Chapters
10,11
|
Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is
grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
Jeremiah 10:19
Chapter 10
1: Hear ye
the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
-
Do we still not believe that this stuff from Jeremiah
is NOT TO US TODAY, thus we can only use Jeremiah to warn about the coming
Tribulation, NOT the fear of what God will do to you if you don't do the
Christian things such as church going, tithing, worshipping, Lord's Supper
worthily, Baptism, walking the Great Commission, etc.
2-4 -
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed
at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs
of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work
of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and
with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
-
Ahh - the famous Christmas tree verse that most think
really can't be the Christmas tree today!
-
How about Revelation
11 and gift giving because they are so
happy they killed the two witnesses...
-
So, is Christmas all that neutral?
5 -
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne,
because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do
evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
-
Folks tend to ignore this verse, though - in other
words, it is just a tree - don't be afraid of it and don't think it pleases
God, either ... but learn not the way
of the heathen... the customs are vain!
-
Christmas is vain, etc.
-
It might be fun, etc. but it isn't anything that
pleases God, etc.
-
For our eternity, the rewards from Christmas...
-
will burn during the judgment seat
-
go to church one of two times?
-
hand out tracts this season only?
-
family time but never talk about birth or resurrection
and Paul, etc.?
-
dress extra special for that 'special service?'
-
sing songs that are obviously not true?
-
'safe' Santa?
-
support a lie in testimony and in manner of life
to kids and others... really, we would do that?
6-7
- Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and
thy name is great in might. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations?
for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the
nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
-
Today, there is none like unto the KJB!
-
I Corinthians 13:10 -
But
when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be
done away.
-
Psalm 138:2 -
... for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
8-9 -
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of
vanities. Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold
from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue
and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
-
Brutish - Like a brute or beast;
-
1. Insensible; stupid
-
2. Unfeeling; savage; ferocious; brutal.
-
3. Gross; carnal; bestial.
-
Having the qualities of a beast; brutal; below the
dignity of reason or humanity; carnal;
-
4. Ignorant; uncivilized; untaught.
-
Doctrine of vanities!
-
The religious look!
-
Ahh - the work of cunning men against the KJB, Paul,
etc.!
-
Ephesians 4:14 - with
cunning craftiness
-
II Peter 1:16 - cunningly
devised fables in full swing during the Tribulation, some being created
now.
-
cunningly devised fables in trib are showing up more
and more now...
-
cunning educators
-
cunning women
-
cunning musicians
10-13 -
But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting
king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be
able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that
have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the
earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power,
he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the
heavens by his discretion. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude
of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the
ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the
wind out of his treasures.
-
What a God!!!
-
What a voice!!!
-
What a Book!!!
-
PS Note about creation: Ephesians
3:9 - And to make all men see what is the
fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been
hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: ...
-
Creationists should compare KJV with NIV
- ... and to make plain to everyone the
administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in
God, who created all things.
14-15 -
Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the
graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath
in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their
visitation they shall perish.
-
No breath in them - they are vanity - they are the
work of errors!
-
brutish - Like a brute or beast; as a brutish form.
-
1. Insensible; stupid; as brutish men.
-
2. Unfeeling; savage; ferocious; brutal.
-
3. Gross; carnal; bestial.
-
4. Ignorant; uncivilized; untaught.
19-21
- Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly
this is a grief, and I must bear it. My tabernacle is spoiled, and all
my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not:
there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore
they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
-
It is grievous - and I must bear it!
-
Look at our churches!
-
music - people - no modesty and lack of standards
- sound doctrine?
-
Look at the 'KJB' today!
-
nobody believes it - fewer and fewer as final authority
-
Look at the pastors, etc. ...
-
brutish - not seeking the words of the Lord - not
even believing in Biblical teachings, etc.
-
Look at our 'relationships' with ...
-
so strained - no honor with own kin, etc.
-
Look at our families... kids... etc.
-
not only not interested, they want to hear nothing
from parents about this stuff...
-
But then, look at the prospering they 'seem' to be
doing...
-
lost people filling up the churches as the 'saved'
leave knowing something is drastically wrong
22 -
Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the
north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
-
We see the Tribulation coming - and not by signs,
either - but by Scriptures... Hebrews
to Jude
23 -
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man
that walketh to direct his steps.
-
Do we know that?
-
Follow Paul's steps today!
-
The Risen Saviour IS the way - but it must be through
Paul - Rightly divided KJB!
-
Philippians 4:9; I Corinthians 4:16,17,
etc.
-
It is not in us - unless you are a baptist, modern
Christian, etc. they claim that it is.
-
Tribulation has to have Spirit of God upon their
flesh to make that claim!
24 -
O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring
me to nothing.
-
Dispensation of Grace today so no outward correction,
reproof, etc.
-
only through King James Bible - Scriptures - doctrine,
correction,
reproof, instruction in righteousness
-
See Romans 2:4,5
- works being stored for either Judgment Seat of Christ or White Throne
Judgment
-
We are to grow in judgment ourselves!
Philippians 1:9,10
25 -
Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families
that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him,
and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
-
Tribulation is coming, but we don't worry about it - now.
-
II Corinthians 5:11 - Knowing
therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest
unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
Chapter 11
-
3-11
-
obey God's voice - and He will be their God - blessing
or cursing depending on their obedience - conspiracy -
-
14 - Therefore
pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them:
for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
-
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither
lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time
that they cry unto me for their trouble.
-
do not even pray for them - God will not hear them
even if they do call upon him
-
18 - And the LORD
hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their
doings.
-
Jeremiah knew what was going on - as do we, because
the word of the Lord come to us through the KJB!
-
19 - But I was
like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and knew not that
they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with
the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the livingk
that his name may be no more remembered.
-
Yet, Jeremiah did not know that they had devised
devices against him... and they did not want to hear the 'truth' or they
would kill him.. (verse 21 - Therefore
thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying,
Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:
)
-
He wanted to quit - but couldn't!
-
Jeremiah 20:9
- Then I said, I will not make mention
of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine
heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing,
and I could not stay.
-
His familiars watched for his halting to put him
down once and for all!
-
Jeremiah 20:10
- For I heard the defaming of many,
fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it.
All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be
enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge
on him.
-
And they wanted to never hear from him again!
-
hmmm - sound familiar?
-
don't talk to me about Paul - don't talk to the
kids about Paul, etc. - I can talk to you, but don't answer back with any
of your KJB Only & Paul rightly divided stuff!
-
So what do we do today?
-
We listen to them and don't say anything anymore?
-
We must still be seeking favour with all the people
so the Lord would add to our church, not have people leave?
-
Remember the war lessons from Nehemiah
1-6 with Tobiah and Sanballat?
-
1) mocking; 2) conspire to stop you; 3) sneak in
amongst the rubbish in your life; 4) fuss over finances; 5) compromise;
6) slander; 7) cause you to do wrong to prove you are not what you say
or try to show you are!
-
22-23 - Therefore
thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men
shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:
And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men
of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
-
Therefore... I will punish them... - no remnant of
them!
-
Tribulation - but not to us today!
-
It's coming...
Our learning through Jeremiah
will:
-
teach us about the Tribulation but NOT the threats
to us today!
-
what Jeremiah says about trying to tell people about
the voice of the Lord
-
ours being the risen Lord through Paul and a rightly
divided KJB!
