Confidence
or Conceit? / Assurance or Arrogance?
|
My concern is growing as I hear that more and more 'Paul' folks that
have become one or more of the following:
-
Word of God NOT dwelling in them richly anymore
-
NOT setting their affection on things above and instead are setting
their affection on things on the earth!
-
NOT enduring sound doctrine
-
Turning their ears away from the truth
-
Casting off their first faith
-
Departing from the faith
-
Giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils
-
Not shunning profane and vain babblings
-
Loving this present world as did Demas
-
Not holding fast
-
NOT standing with Paul anymore
-
Turning aside after Satan
-
NOT willing to labour and suffer reproach
-
Young people NOT being the example of the believer
I could name you names of people I know that have gone back to the very
things they were supposed to quit forgetting about those things which 'were'
behind - and have gone back to them - including throwing out Paul!
What is going on?
Are they tired of the fight?
Are they tired of the inner battle they have to have...?
Where is the confidence - and assurance that we are approved of God
to have! We rightly divide so that we needeth not to be ashamed...
So why the increase of dropouts?
Let's first look at how today's modern Christian designs his assurance
and his being aware that God has not forsaken him or his family...
Their assurance is based on arrogance!
-
Turn to I John 3:19 - And hereby we
know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
-
Also read in I John...
-
3:16-24
-
4:4-17
-
5:1-5
-
3:4-10
-
They actually believe that they stop sinning if they follow in Jesus' footsteps
today - with a few confessions, of course!
-
They believe they are anointed with all knowledge, apparently, because
that is also in I John. See chapter 1:27.
So where is our assurance from? From our walk?
-
See II Timothy 3:14 -
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured
of knowing of whom thou hast learned from.
-
From a rightly divided King James 1611 Bible.
-
From following Paul's teachings!
-
Knowing Christ himself taught Paul face to face to be our apostle
-
We know the status of our flesh AND yet we also know the status of our
fellowship with Christ. He will never forsake us!
-
The teachings of Paul are different than the teachings of Peter and James,
etc. in the Tribulation book!
-
Today's modern 'supposedly serious' Christians actually believe that they
are not sinning, thus they receive God's blessings in their life! Amazing!
You really have to wrongly divide to come up with that conclusion.
-
And they say WE are conceited and arrogant?
Following Paul gives us that assurance that we can have
confidence with!
-
Colossians 2:2 -
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and
unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment
of the mystery of God and of the Father, and of Christ;
-
I Thessalonians 1:5
- For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and
in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men
we were among you for your sake.
Is it Conceit?
-
Romans 11:25 -
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is
happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
-
It is happening more and more these days!
Our confidence comes from the RISEN SAVIOUR - through
Paul's teachings in a rightly divided KJ!
-
Acts 28:31 - Preaching
the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus
Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
-
Ephesians 3:12
- In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

The
entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but it is not all written TO
us!
We
learn from the "For" and we learn to apply the 'TO!"
