If not, then what has God chosen for today?
That is the question we will answer tonight because the answer to the first questions are NO - NO - NO!

This teaching that "God chose us today" - or that "our blessings are based on His choosing us - saving us" - and then "our walking that sinless walk to receive His blessings" is the height of conceit and pride - something that Christianity today has grown in to the point to where it will soon be bringing on the rapture - Romans 11:22 - Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Wrong doctrine teaches that God chose us / you / me from the beginning...

• Read these verses in their entirety - meaning, the WHOLE verse - slowly!
• Put a little English grammar to these two verses and you will see that is not US that was chosen - but ... that we should be holy and without blame before him in love ... that our salvation was to be through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth!
• Not us / you / me!!!!!

I.  I Corinthians 1:27-31

• He uses the King James Bible!
• He uses a Book - a simple Book as a foolish thing of the world!
• He uses a Book - a simple Book to confound the wise!
• He uses a Book - a simple weak Book to confound the things which are mighty!
• He uses a Book - a simple base Book!
• He uses a Book - a simple Book that is despised!
• He uses a Book - words - something as un-useful and unwanted as a Book - to bring to nought things that are!
• Why?
• That no flesh should glory in his presence!
• But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That according  as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

• We have been chosen to be a soldier!
• We can not and must not give up the fight.
• We may have to reexamine our weapons and our ways, etc. but don't get tired of the fight - we are chosen to be a soldier!
• Endure hardness - make it a good fight as did Paul!
