- Fools Gold or Genuine Gold or God's Pure Gold - |
|
|
|
|
|
|
'Fools gold' looks like there is gold in the rock - but there is NONE!
People who find 'fools gold' don't notice that it is an imitation
and think they have found something valuable. When they see the
gold shine, they quit thinking!
They are easily deceived, especially by those people who are tring to deceive them for more money!
It may look like gold, feel like gold, shine like gold, and people will
call it gold,
and then others will want some too, etc.
They will act like they are rich and have all the same 'fun' hoopla as those who find genuine gold.
Fools gold has an appropriate name because it is truly - gold
for fools!
In the Old Testament days, it was used throughout the Tabernacle.
Ex:25:11: And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. As a baby, Jesus was given gold.Ex:25:12: And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.
Ex:25:13: And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
Ex:25:17: And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
Ex:25:18: And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
Ex:25:24: And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about.
Ex:25:26: And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.
Ex:25:28: And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.
Ex:25:29: And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them.
Ex:25:31: And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.
Ex:25:36: Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.
Ex:25:38: And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold.
Ex:25:39: Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.
Ex:26:6:And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.
Ex:26:29: And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.
... continue with about 65 more verses with 'gold' mentioned in this manner - just in Exodus alone.
But throughout
His ministry, gold was nothing special to Jesus. He was not impressed
with gold - or with the folks that had gold.
Mt:10:9:
Provide
neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Mt:23:17:
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that
sanctifieth the gold?
Gold won't
be 'worth it' for God's people to have in the Tribulation - like people
want it today.
Jms:5:3:
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness
against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure
together for the last days.
The people
will have their gold but it won't mean much to God's people' during the
Tribulation. The 'sincere' and 'enduring to the end' children of
God will have something more valuable than gold, unfortunately, it won't
be as enjoyable!
1Pt:1:7:
That
the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and
glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
A woman
of God during the Tribulation needn't wear it. (Christian women
really do show it off today, eh?)
1Pt:3:3:
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair,
and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Golden idols just never quit, do they!
It seems every dispensation has them! It seems that in every dispensation,
most people worshipped an unknown God, so that is nothing new today, either.
Rv:9:20:
And
the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented
not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and
idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither
can see, nor hear, nor walk:
A golden cup full of what? There
sure is a serious sermon in this verse, eh!
Rv:17:4:
And
the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold
and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Earthly
gold won't last - and in the meantime, it can cause problems!
I Timothy
6:10: For the love of money is the root
of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
I Timothy
6:17: Charge them that are rich in this
world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but
in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
In this message/study, we also look at Acts 19:21-29; I Timothy 6:9,10; I Corinthians 3:9-15; II Corinthians 5:10; Romans 2:16

Paul never talks about 'earthly' gold or its value. His mind is only on heavenly eternal gold, especially for others.
So, in a sermon, gold has great spiritual value - II Timothy 2:20,21 - But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
But in heavenly value, we should be working hard today to earn our eternal gold for tomorrow. I Corinthians 3:12-15- Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
If we are going to go prospecting for God's gold, we need to look to Paul as our wise masterbuilder!
We know we can get God's gold only from Paul!
We know we can find Paul's ways and manner of life only in a rightly divided King James 1611 Bible!
The heart of him that hath understanding
seeketh knowledge:
but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Proverbs 15:14
Because we know of the Goodness
of God found only in a KJB rightly divided Bible,
we know exactly how and where to
find God's Gold...
...looking to the Risen Saviour through Paul, our only apostle and minister!
Furthermore then we beseech
you, brethren,
and exhort you by the Lord
Jesus,
that as ye have received
of us how ye ought to walk and to please God,
so ye would abound more and
more.
I Thessalonians 4:1
