 The Stolen "Goodness of God"

As I am trying to put together some organized thoughts for this radio program, and with the central theme being the goodness of God, I notice in modern Bibles that there is no "goodness of God."  Knowing that many of the listeners will be of the modern bible group, I wonder if they will even care and take thought - or will they accept the watered down verses.

Ya know, when something is watered down, it isn't as strong - but to the taster, they are satisfied with it, anyway.  I guess only time will tell.

Here are a couple of the verses in the KJB and how they are rendered in an NIV:

The Goodness of God
King James 1611 Bible
NIV
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
II Thess.
1:11
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire  for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Psalms
107:8
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
Psalms
145:7
They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Romans
2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,  If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:  How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,  Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
Ephesians
3:1-4
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.  In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
While 'any' word change is dastardly wrong, I have underlined the 'main' word that affects or is affected by a singe word change.  Maybe you can also now see that the goodness of God has been stolen from the KJB in the new so-called bibles.

As I go through the many verses containing details of the goodness of God, I will also check an NIV or some other modern version and make note of the differences.

So keep tuned to this page:

The entire King James Bible is written FOR us, but obviously it is not ALL written TO us!
We learn from the "For" while we learn to apply the 'TO to our everyday lives!"
These writings of Paul are directly from the Risen Saviour to Paul...
...and then to us through the King James Bible by the Holy Ghost!
